Sponsors must provide proof of eligibility by a letter from their respective Pastors. First-time parents attend a Pre-Jordan Meeting prior to Baptism, which is arranged at a mutually convenient time. 4 Seven Tips on Praying the Rosary 1. Carry the Rosary with you each day as a reminder of God s presence and of our need for prayer. 2. You do not have to pray the entire rosary all at the same time. You can say a Decade a day, for example, or pray parts of the Rosary as quiet times present themselves during the day. 3. Treat the Rosary beads with respect. They should not be worn as jewelry. 4. If you get distracted while saying the Rosary you do not have to backtrack. Simply recollect yourself and continue on. 5. You can pray the Rosary in church, at home, at work, in school, outside, on your knees, sitting in a comfortable chair, while out for a walk or a run, etc., etc. 6. There are booklets and smart phone apps available with helps in saying the rosary. These often have a list of the mysteries, texts of the prayers, meditations, and Scriptural references. 7. If through no fault of your own you do not finish a rosary - such as by falling asleep or stopping to take care of some pressing need, there is an old pious assurance that says an angel will finish the Rosary for you. (Just don t take advantage of the angels good nature.) All-Day Eucharistic Adoration This Tuesday, October 2. The Most Blessed Sacrament is exposed on our Altar for Adoration following the 7:30 AM Mass through Benediction at 7:00 PM. Stop by for 15, 30, 60 or more minutes with God. Please sign up for a slot on the sheet at the rear of the Church. 50 Years Ago, Blessed Paul VI prophesied to the world that marriages and the society would suffer if the use of contraception became widespread. He said that infidelity, moral decline, loss of respect for women and abuse of power by governments would increase exponentially. Today, the vast majority of women in the western world use some form of contraception. In developing countries, the West engages in oppressive financial and political pressure to comply with abortion on demand, contraception, sterilization and more. This conference will highlight the fulfillment of these prophecies in the world today and offer a reflection as to how selflessness, love, self mastery and moral responsibility can reverse this trend. We love because he first loved us. 1 John 4:18-19 RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY This year, we celebrate RESPECT LIFE SUNDAY on October 7, Over the years we have supported the Mothers Home in Darby, Pennsylvania. This year we will support St. Ignatius Nursing & Rehab Center, a catholic healthcare ministry of the Felician Franciscan Sisters located in West Philadelphia. A 4-star rated nursing and rehab center that offers resident and patient personal choice and quality care with an emphasis on spiritual, psychological and social needs. The sisters strongly believe that each person is created by God, deserving respect and dignity regardless of race, religion or socio-economic status. Their focus is on the poor and services to the elderly. The second collection on Sunday, October 7 th will benefit the elderly in the Spirit of the Gospel.
