SICK CALLS: Emergencies Please call the Rectory. Hospital Visitation The Parish Priests will be happy to visit any Parishioner who is hospitalized. Please contact the Rectory, since hospitals do not contact the Rectory. SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM: The Sacrament of Baptism is administered most Sundays at 11:30 a.m. Arrangements are made in advance at the Rectory. Sponsors must provide proof of eligibility by a letter from their respective Pastors. First time parents attend a Pre-Jordan Meeting prior to Baptism, which is arranged at a mutually convenient time. SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE: Arrangements must be made with the Pastor at least six months before the date of the Wedding. Pre-Cana instructions are required. Weddings may be scheduled on Saturdays between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., or on Friday evenings. Married couples or individuals and are highly encouraged to join. Ministers find spiritual fulfillment, as well as a strong sense of community and belonging, knowing that they are serving God and His church. Congratulations to Brandon Artman, our seminarian, on receiving the Ministry of Lector at Saint Charles Seminary on April 13. The Instituted Lector s duties include proclaiming the readings from Sacred Scripture, with the exception of the gospel reading. He may also announce the intentions for the general intercessions and, in the absence of the psalmist, sing or read the psalm between the readings. In the celebration of the Eucharist, the Instituted Lector has specific duties, which he alone ought to perform, even though ordained ministers may be present. As an Instituted Lector, Brandon has completed another important step toward his ordination to the Priesthood. He is completing his fourth of six years of formation at the Seminary. The conference is presented by Life Matters Journal. Presentations will cover ethics, history, practice and public policy on a whole breadth and depth of life issues: abortion, unjust war, the death penalty, euthanasia & mercy killing, torture, embryonic stem cell research, human trafficking, suicide, and more. For more information, please visit Ivy Hall Night at the Movies: An Exploration of the Priesthood in Film. The Mission, starring Robert DeNiro, will be shown on April 21 at Ivy Hall Ballroom, International Institute for Culture, 6331 Lancaster Ave., Overbrook. Doors open at 6:30 PM; film at 7:00 PM. Suggested donation is $5.00. Popcorn will be provided, and BYOB. A social period for discussion and fellowship will follow each film. Throughout 2016, on the third Thursday of each month, we will be showing a film in Ivy Hall's ballroom featuring a different cinematic portrayal of a priest. 5 St. Charles Borromeo Seminary presents its second Theology on Tap. The event will take place this Friday, April 22 from 7:30 to 10:30 PM for adults aged (must have a valid photo ID). The evening will include a presentation by seminarians, with live music by our seminarian cover band. Please join us! Retreat for Fathers of Children with Disabilities. Saturday, April 30 from 9 AM to 5 PM at Saint Charles Seminary. Being a good dad day-in and dayout is not an easy task. Yet raising children with disabilities can make fatherhood even more challenging. Fathers of children of all ages who have physical, intellectual, sensory, or emotional disabilities are invited to attend this retreat day.
