Mitch Guidry as he examines the personality and motivations of the dissident priest who started it all: Martin Luther. Fr. Guidry will look at the impact of the spilt in the Body of Christ and its consequences today. CCD CLASS: Elementary CCD class ~ Tuesday, October 10th from 6:00-7:00pm FROM THE PASTOR Dear Parishioners, We had a great retreat for our first Women s ACTS. I want to thank St. Anthony Church in Eunice for ministering to us this retreat. They did an excellent job. The 32 ladies that made the retreat will be like a leaven in our town. Already new ideas are being proposed and acted upon. Our next Women s retreat will be the first weekend of Lent. Our next Men s retreat will be the first weekend of December. Registration for that Men s retreat will be opening up 1 week from now. October is the month of the Holy Rosary and October 7th is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. Bishop Deshotel is encouraging the praying of a family rosary in the homes. The use of pictures and icons can be very useful with the children to help them think about the mystery being considered. This is also Pro-Life month. Today we will be passing out the baby bottles for the women s home in Lafayette, run by the Desormeaux Foundation. Please take one home per family and bring it back next Sunday with your donation inside. Checks should be made out to the Desormeaux Foundation. This has been their bread and butter fundraising throughout the diocese to keep this home open for un-wed mothers and to counsel those considering abortion. Sincerely in Christ, Fr. DEVOTION OF THE MONTH: THE HOLY ROSARY The Catholic Church designates October as the Month of the Holy Rosary. During this month the faithful venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary especially under her title of Our Lady of the Rosary, and make special effort to honor the Holy Rosary with group recitations and rosary processions.
