Thank you to all the women who attended our inaugural Advent Mass, Breakfast and Speaker. We had 80 some women join us for a great morning last Saturday. Lots of laughs, conversation and prayer was shared by all. I also want to thank all the men who braved the weather the Saturday prior to our Advent Men s Mass, Breakfast and Speaker. We had nearly 60 men join us on that wintry day. God is good! Thank you to all the St. John s Foresters for their work in putting on their annual pancake and sausage breakfast. Thank you for everyone who came last Sunday and supported the breakfast. The Foresters are very generous in their support of our Parish and I am very grateful. This year s proceeds from the Forester s breakfast will go to purchase a new Eucharistic procession canopy that we will use on Corpus Christi and other occasions as well as new highway signs for St. John s and St. Joseph Churches similar to the beautiful St. Boniface sign on Hwy 81. Thank you Foresters! Last Saturday, we also celebrated First Reconciliation with our 2 nd Graders. Congratulations to Emma Birger, Wyatt Gobel, Ty Hopping, Ashlyn Loecker (made hers with her St. Rose of Lima school classmates) and Hudson Whitmire as you continue your preparation for your First Communion next Spring. This weekend, I will continue my series on Marriage and Family. During the first two weeks of Advent I focused on how we are first made in the image and likeness of God and thus we are Beloved Sons and Daughters of God because we are from God our Father. However, I focused last weekend on how we all begin life as a child, from, but as we grow up, we transition in the image and likeness of God to becoming for others. We are still always from and thus we are always God s beloved, but we become for others in our vocation. Thus, in marriage, spouses are for each other. A husband wills all goodness to his wife (He is for his wife) and a wife wills all goodness to her husband (She is for her husband) and in this they each then entrust themselves to the other. We see and experience in this world of sin, that this relationship quickly breaks down as the devil seeks to use doubt, shame, fear or whatever else to breakdown this being completely for the other and in turn entrusting ourselves completely to the other. This week, I want to focus on this relationship of willing all goodness (to be for) and receiving that complete gift of goodness (to be from) and then entrusting ourself completely to the other. This is relationship is perfect in the Holy Trinity, meaning, God the Father and God the Son do this / live this perfectly. This constant giving, receiving and entrusting is where the Holy Spirit proceeds from. That is why we say the Holy Spirit means to be with. This love of being for and from that we see between the Father and Son or between continued
