The Sisters are in need of volunteers to help cut the grass. If four parishioners could volunteer for this ministry, each would be responsible to cut the grass once a month. Let s keep St. Mark Convent looking good! If you would like to volunteer, please call the Parish Center. News rom Father Todd Dear friends, As you read this bulletin letter, Chris Guedel and I are enjoying our final days in India. We have been privileged to witness the ordination of Fr. Jude Meril Sahayam and to visit one of the world s largest and most populous countries. This weekend we offer a warm to welcome Fr. Paul Landwerlen. Fr. Paul was ordained to the priesthood in 1954 and after forty-nine years of active ministry, he retired in In the early years of his priesthood he served as an assistant pastor at three parishes and then, through the years, pastored five parishes of the Archdiocese. His final assignment was at St. Vincent de Paul in Shelby County where he ministered for seventeen years. Fr. Paul is one of the great resources of our Archdiocese. We sometimes wonder what we would do without our retired priests. While Fr. Paul and his fellow retired priests may not have a canonical assignments, they continue to offer valuable sacramental assistance to parishes throughout the Archdiocese. They are extremely generous in helping wherever they are needed and giving priests, like myself, opportunities to take part in special celebrations like Fr. Meril s ordination. Fr. Paul also assists the Central Indiana Cursillo Community by serving as a Spiritual Director for many of the renewal weekends sponsored by Cursillo. He is much in demand for the weekends where both his wit and his wisdom are greatly appreciated. Please thank Fr. Paul for his kindness to us this weekend and ask God to bless him for his generous service to the Church. Next weekend is FUNFEST! Let s make it a memorable one and a successful one. Everyone s help is needed and everyone s help is welcome. Please remember that our Saturday anticipation Mass next week will be at 4:00 p.m. rather than the usual 5:30 p.m. Due to the festival there will not be confessions before Mass. Plan on enjoying a great meal after Mass and a great evening with fellow parishioners and friends at the St. Mark Funfest! See you at Mass and at Funfest!

FOR THE GOOD OF THE PARISH Our Parish Pastoral Council has set communications as one of the goals of the parish this year. We have had a good response since this has been in place. Please continue to share your suggestions For the Good of the Parish! There is a suggestion box in the form of a church with suggestion paper and pens/pencils available on the Mary Lynn Cavanaugh Welcome Desk. Spiritual Direction As more and more Catholics seek to grow in their relationship with God, there is an ever-growing need for spiritual direction. The Archdiocese of Indianapolis through the Secretariat for Worship and Evangelization, is responding to this need in a new way. Catholics who are interested in having a Spiritual Director are invited to contact the Secretariat at spiritualdirection@archindy.hyperlink "mailto:spiritualdirection@archindy.org"org. Assistance will be given to help a person to know what spiritual direction is and what it is not. The archdiocese is able to refer interested persons to trained spiritual directors who are available to accompany people on their spiritual journey. Brochures outlining the program and the process of finding a Spiritual Director are now available in the Information Centers in the narthex. Sister Circle Calling all Ladies!
