Bill Vocations Awareness Week November 4-10, 2018 VOCATION MASS - Monday, November 12th, St. Barnabas, at 7:00 p.m., Father Joe Rautenberg will celebrate a Mass for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. We will pray for current vocations, those discerning a vocation and those ignoring God's call. With the current shortage, if at all possible, please attend this Mass. Thank you. NATIONAL VOCATIONS AWARENESS WEEK - As Catholics, we firmly believe that God has a plan for our lives. He calls some to marriage, some as generous single people, some to the priesthood and others to religious life. During National Vocation Awareness Week, please pray about how God is calling you to live your vocation more deeply. Encourage the young people in your life, children, grandchildren, students and friends to be open if God calls them to the priesthood, diaconate or consecrated life. PRIESTHOOD SUNDAY ON OCTOBER 28, 2018, is a special day set aside to honor the priesthood in the United States and to reflect upon and affirm the role of the priesthood in the life of the Church as a central one. This nationwide event is coordinated by the USA Council of Serra International. Please take a moment to show your appreciation to Fr. Bill and Fr. 5 Youth CONFIRMATION Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation for high school students in grades continues Sunday, November 18th at 10:45 in the school's media center. ARCHINDY TEEN EXPERIENCE - SAVE THE DATE: High School youth from throughout the Archdiocese will gather November 4 at Butler University for an exciting day of fellowship and fun. More people are donating to the Indiana State Tax Credit Scholarship Program and taking advantage of this unique tax opportunity. Your gift to St. Mark Catholic School, through the Institute of Quality Education (IQE), will help our students afford a high quality Catholic education. IQE began accepting donations for tax credit scholarships on July 1, The cap for the fiscal year is $12.5 million, but these credits are expected to run out early. Donate early to take advantage of the 50% state tax credit opportunity. This program is a win-win for donors and our St. Mark Catholic School students. Please help out class of 2019 and order your Texas Roadhouse Rolls and Honey Cinnamon Butter from an 8th grader. They will be delivered here to SMCS before Thanksgiving. Class members will be selling rolls after all masses the weekend of October 27-28th. 6 Community Community All Souls Day in Myanmar In Myanmar, one week prior to All Souls Day, parishioners and volunteers go to the cemetery for cleaning and painting of tombs. On All Souls Day all the parishioners gather at their parish s cemetery for celebration of Mass and to pray for the souls. Candles are lit and flower wreaths are placed on tombs of dead people by their family members. On that evening, people are gather at the cemetery for prayer and feasting. Some play music, like the traditional flute band while some sing funeral songs. Over the next seven days the faithful strongly believe that praying the Rosary and other forms of prayer for the souls in cemetery will allow full indulgences to be granted. People come and pray every evening. People typically pray and offer Masses for souls in the month of November.

It is also an expression of love and care for our families, easing the tremendous burden of making these important decisions at the time of our death. Burial in a Catholic Cemetery is a final act of faith. Catholic Cemeteries will be here to answer all your questions about your burial plans. THIRTEENTH ANNUAL INDIANA CATHOLIC MEN S CONFERENCE Walking with Christ & the Cross which will be held Saturday, November 10th at the Indiana Convention \Center.
