1 April 2015 Vol. 48 No. 4 The Great Bend Christian After the April 2013 suicide of his 27-year-old son, Matthew, pastor and author Rick Warren was often asked how he was able to keep going. His frequent reply? The answer is Easter. In the Easter sermons Warren preached the following year, he emphasized that Jesus resurrection is the answer to discouragement, defeat and devastating trials. The death, burial and resurrection of Jesus happened over three days, Warren explained. Friday was the day of suffering and pain and agony. Saturday was the day of doubt and confusion and misery. But Easter, that Sunday, was the day of hope and joy and victory. You will face these three days over and over and over in your lifetime. And when you do, you ll find yourself asking, as I did, three fundamental questions. Number one, what do I do in my days of pain? Two, how do I get through my days of doubt and confusion? Three, how do I get to the days of joy and victory? The answer is Easter.

4 The Great Bend Christian April 2015 Dear Church Family, Thank you so much for the prayers, cards, visits, and meals that you have so generously given to us following my fall. Your love and kindness will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Sincerely, Donna & Clark Rusco Our family would like to thank all of you for your thoughts, prayers, and support over the last week. We are so glad we are part of a church group who jumps into action as soon as something happens. I am home doing well and our baby girl is doing great as well. She is continuing to grow and get stronger before she enters the world. We hope to meet her in April. We know your prayers played a huge part in the outcome of my early labor symptoms. We can't thank you enough for your support. Courtney Brunswig, Ty Brunswig & Family Thank you so much for all the cards, calls, and well wishes for my birthday. It was so great to hear from so many.
