1 October 2014 Vol. 47 No. 10 The Great Bend Christian As FCC Great Bend, we are a community of Jesus followers who are devoted to sharing Christ with the World, providing opportunities for deep spiritual development, and raising up the next generations of Disciples! The Pumpkins are Coming! The FCC Pumpkin Patch will be opening soon. The pumpkins are scheduled to arrive Saturday, October 4th at 9:00 am. Help is needed unloading the truck. Please bring your wagons, wheelbarrows, and brooms. Donuts, juice and coffee will be provided. Pumpkin Patch sales will begin Sunday, October 5th and run through Friday, October 31st. Sunday hours are from 1:00 pm 5:00 pm. The Pumpkin Patch will be open from 11:00 am 7:00 pm Monday Friday. On Saturdays, the Pumpkin Patch will be open from 10:00 am 7:00 pm. Although Jennifer Cauley and Lewis Burkes will be overseeing the Pumpkin Patch, volunteers are still needed to help work at the Pumpkin Patch. A signup sheet is in the hallway by the library. You may sign-up for one hour or more, depending upon how your time allows. Many time slots are available. Please join us in this great fundraiser for VBS!

4 I would like to thank all for the prayers and concerns for my daughter during her pregnancy. I would like to say, I believe your prayers and concerns helped. Annie and Paislee are just fine! Thank you. Rhonda Eurich Tenley Jo Moore was born to Meghan & Jesse Moore on September 14th, in Denver, Colorado. Tenley was inches long and weighed 6 lbs. Proud grandparents are Lane & LaDonna Moore. Church Family, We want to thank everyone for your prayers, cards, calls, and friendship these last three months. It has helped us through three surgeries and multiple hours of wondering. Most Sincerely, Larry & Earlene Arnold IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The crisp breeze, the sound of leaves crunching under foot, the fall trees ablaze with brilliant color, these are all signals: Pumpkin Patch is right around the corner! Please help our important ministry this year by signing up for two hours or more right away! The pumpkins come October 4th and the patch will be open until the 31st of the month, Monday through Friday 11 7 p.m., Saturdays 10 7 p.m., and Sundays 1 5 p.m. We need every member in the congregation to sign up for a small amount of time, two hours, to help support our pumpkin patch. The pumpkin patch is vital to supporting the amazing Vacation Bible School program we present every summer to share the love of God and Christ to our children in the congregation and community. Last year the patch raised $3,800 to help fund VBS. There are 203 hours of volunteer time the pumpkin patch is open that your support and time is needed! If every person signed up for only two hours, one time, then our pumpkin patch would be supported by enough volunteers and thrive! TWO HOURS! Yes, you are busy, but ask yourself, can you find two hours from your busy schedule in October to bring the love of God to children? Sign up today!
