Installation of 2018 Officers on June 4 Please join us on Sunday, June 4 at 1 p.m. for the installation of the newly-elected Aerie and Auxiliary officers for The ceremony will be held on the dance floor. There will be a pot roast dinner after the ceremony for $8 in the dining room. The Queen of Hearts drawing will be held at 5 p.m. June, 2017 From your Worthy President New WP looks forward I am looking forward to serving as your Aerie Worthy President for I have enjoyed the last year working alongside Jerry DeLaurenti (DeLo) and have learned a lot from him and the other officers. It is exciting to see some new Brothers being elected to serve with those of us who have been around for awhile. It will be a challenging, but rewarding year. I know we will work well together. Together with the Auxiliary Madam President Carol Walther, we plan to coordinate Joint Chairmen to head our chosen charities for the year, which include Cancer, Heart, Jimmy Durante and the Building Fund. My personal charity of the year will be the local valley food banks, and I hope to have fund-raisers throughout the year for that. Our Aerie meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of the month at 7 p.m. I hope to see more of my fellow Brothers at our meetings so you can stay informed of what is happening at the Aerie and to share in the decisions made during the meetings. President I am honored to be your Auxiliary President for I have observed and learned a lot this past year from Sheila Wilson. Sheila did an awesome job for our Auxiliary and I will continue to go to her, as well as the other officers of , for advice and support during the upcoming year. I look forward to serving with the newly-elected officers for this year, and I m thrilled to have some Sisters who have taken on the responsibilities of being an officer for the first time. I know we will work together to make the year a success. Along with the Aerie Worthy President Gary Plumb, it is our hope to have joint committee chairmen to head our designated charities for the year and to establish a Building Fund Committee as a year-long fund-raising goal. We plan to have the Aerie Brothers and the Auxiliary Sisters combining our efforts for the benefit of us all. The Auxiliary meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m., so this is my invite to all of the Sisters who haven t been at a meeting for awhile and to the many new Sisters to join us. This is a great way to stay informed of what is happening in our Aerie and Auxiliary, to give your input, and to find out where your help is needed. 2 BOARD OF TRUSTEES AERIE NO POLICY STATEMENT RESERVATION OF TABLE SPOTS PRIOR TO BINGO GAMES Effective June 1, 2017, the following rules will apply to all people playing in the Aerie. 1 No more than four (4) table sitting spots may be reserved. These must be marked with some sort of an indicator to show the reservation, e.g., a bar coaster. This does not mean, for example, that a party of four people could each reserve four additional spots or an additional 16 places. It is intended that an individual can reserve four spots or a party can reserve four extra places. 2 No sitting spot may be reserved before 5 Great times were had in the April outing to Hoquiam River RV Park, including a gathering around the campfire despite some inclement weather! Warmer weather should prevail for the May outing to Pier Four in Moses Lake and perhaps we ll have a fishing tale to share from that trip in the next newsletter! Exciting outings are scheduled each month throughout the year. Come to our meetings the first Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. The May meeting welcomed new and returning Roamer officers: Hal Dufilho, President (new); Bryan Hamby, Vice-President (new); Valerie Coty, Secretary (new); and Anne Johnson, Treasurer p.m. on game days. 3 If any reservation is not claimed by 6:45 p.m. it must be freed and made available to anyone desiring to use it. This is assuming that the games start at 7 p.m. If the time of start is changed it is intended that the sitting spot must be given up fifteen (15) minutes before any game start. Adopted and approved at a regularly scheduled Board of Trustees meeting on May 10, FOR THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES Wally Lochrie, Chairman Daffodil Roamers on the road again (returning). Our heartfelt thanks to our out-going officers: Fred Sheppard, President; Ray Newby, Vice-President; and Judy Dufilho, Secretary. They did an outstanding job running the group for the term. Don t forget the Washington State Fraternal Order of Eagles has a campground available to members the Eagle Valley Campground near Cle Elum. It s often overlooked and is great place to take the family. It has a miniature golf course, playground, horseshoe pits, basketball hoops, and ice cream for sale in the office, just to name a few amenities! May Day! Calling all Hold em players. Not very many heard our SOS for May game. We did have 67 who had their honey do list done and tried to make it to final table. They were: First, Tracy Ausbun; second, Gaylon Homestead; third, Joel Moulton; fourth, Denny Cowen; fifth, Scott Leen; sixth, Gary Hunsaker; seventh, David Rice; eighth, John Duquin; and ninth, Randy Cox. Now they can go and buy mom a nice gift for Mothers Day. Our Snowbird Gaylon Homestead arrived home just in time to make the game and take the second place pot. Congratulations to Marvin Fleck on his retirement. Remember to get your dues paid before next game. You must have a current card in order to play. You cannot pay your dues at game.
