This underserved community faces higher rates of chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, yet many are uninsured or underinsured. Students will provide door-to-door health screens, share the gospel of Jesus Christ, and participate in Bible study and leadership training. The program will also send four SMI students to a Muslim country in Eastern Europe, July 15 28, to participate in a SMI program run by a local Christian health center. SMI is one of the projects run by Medical Campus Outreach, a discipleship ministry of Tenth Church to healthcare students and professionals in Philadelphia.
