5 Mission & Outreach Your Mission Growth Fund Administered by the Northridge United Methodist Foundation The Mission Growth Fund was started on the tithe of the money gained from the sale of the NUMC property at Nordhoff and Reseda in the 1980 s. That money can be used only for mission projects. We currently have $150,000 in the Mission Growth Fund. Little new money has been added to the Mission Growth Fund in the last decade, and it is time to renew our efforts to build up the fund. If you should find yourself with some extra money you wish to put to a good purpose, or if you would like to recognize someone who has been a blessing to you during your life, please consider a donation to Northridge United Methodist Foundation and earmark it for the Mission Growth Fund. It is a gift that will continue to give through the years. Over the last three years, the NUMC Missions Area has used the earnings to support the following projects: Missionary support for Costa Rica Mission Projects Missionary support for GYTTE in Mexico Purchase of a new 12-passenger van at GYTTE in Mexico Initiating a fund for a new parsonage at Lambakin UMC in the Philippines Lambakin UMC - Philippines (church, pews and bibles) Scholarships for two students at the hearingimpaired (S.H.A.R.E.) school in the Philippines Project to build elementary and middle schools in Madagascar Bridge to Home - Sylmar Winter Shelter for the homeless North Valley Caring Services Community Fair and Thanksgiving dinner Construction materials for mission teams to GYTTE, to Costa Rica Mission Projects, and to Mississippi Rebuild (Katrina) Mission Opportunity Fund to assist mission team members in participating on NUMC mission trips Imagine No Malaria Wil and Yolanda 5
