2 Overview The first week of 2012 was spent assisting Franklin Rodriquez in Barahona, Dominican Republic. Our team conducted door to door evangelism and held evangelistic meetings in area churches. We saw 536 people make a profession in Jesus as their Savior. Right: Matt Goodman & Johnny share the Gospel to families of sugar field workers. 3 Our Host Franklin Rodriquez is a church planter. We first began working with Franklin after he arrived in Barahona five years ago. He started a church in the heart of the city. Franklin has planted 3 churches in this area Adis, Franklin, & Bonita Rodriquez and started many Bible studies that may turn into churches as leaders are discipled. We assist him by conducting evangelism outreach in areas where he is trying to strengthen or start churches. 31 Dec 11 Saturday The 4 members from Ohio, Joe T. Veal, Larry and Sylvia Randolph, and Judy Freeman met at the Dayton airport at 4:45 am. We picked up Matt Goodman in Atlanta, GA. The 3 1/2 hour flight from Atlanta arrived in Santo Domingo about 3pm. We arrived in Barahona on New Year s Eve after traveling by van for four hours. The team was weary and a few members had motion sickness, so we ate supper and retired, choosing to sleep in the new year. We stayed in the Hotel El Quemaito a beautiful out of the way resort set on the Caribbean Sea.

4 Above: Joe Veal & Pastor Fernando 01 Jan 12 Sunday Up at 6:00 am for quiet time. Team devotions at 7:00 am. Breakfast at 8:00 am. The team pulled out and held our first service about 9:00 am. We met under a shelter with no sides. Franklin assisted Fernando in planting this church in a sea side village. Fernando was led to the Lord by Moriah Haisley two years ago on our team. We worshiped with local believers util noon. Joe Veal preached and the team prayed with several people after the sermon. After a lunch of rice and beans, we headed off to the next service. I call this place the Blind Church. There is a genetic disorder in this area that causes many who live there to be blind. We met under a tree and worshiped the Lord. Matt Goodman preached and several were saved. This service lasted till 4:30. Several team members were still struggling with motion sickness and adjusting to the heat which was above 90 degrees. The last service was held in a Batia (a Haitian ghetto). We began the service about 7:00. After worshiping, Joe Veal preached and several were saved. The service ended about 9:30. A late supper at Hotel and off to sleep 11: people were saved on this first day. 02 Jan 2012 Monday Up at 6:00 am for quiet time. Team devotions at 7:00 am. The team members paired up with their interpreters. Robert is a pastor and teacher in a public school. Johnny is a member of Robert s church.

5 Below: Judy Freeman & Robert Wany is an 18 year old lady from Franklin s church. We had various other church members join us throughout the week. We began in the area surrounding Fernando s church. After traveling to the area, we began witnessing about 10:00. We were sharing the Gospel from house to house. The temperature was about 90 degrees. We stopped for lunch and then back to door-to-door ministry. People are very respectful to the Gospel and many were receptive and accepted Jesus as Savior. By the end of the day we saw 102 give their lives to Jesus. 10:00 day ends 03 Jan 2012 Tuesday Up at 6:00 am for quiet time. Team devotions at 7:00 am. Back to Fernando s area for more witnessing. We moved a little further down

6 the Coast to a small fishing village. Franklin wants to teach Fernando to start a new church here. This day was similar to Monday. We saw 191 saved. Day ends at 10:30 Above: Sylvia Randolph & Wany 04 Jan 2012 Wednesday Up at 6:00 am for quiet time. Team devotions at 7:00 am. We moved about 30 miles to the north of the city to a Batia. This is a very poverty stricken area similar to a Haitian village. Roland is a pastor that Franklin assisted in planting the church here. The building is a crude pole building with a tarp roof. The sides are constructed with coconut leaves tied together with twisted trash bags. We witnessed

7 door-to-door through out the day. At 7:00 we had a revival service and Matt Goodman preached. We saw 150 give their lives to Jesus. 05 Jan 2012 Thursday Up at 6:00 am for quiet time. Team devotions at 7:00 am. We worked in the Batia again. Our goal was to share with all shacks and houses in this area. We covered most of the village. We held a revival service and the house was packed. More than 100 attended the service. Pastor Roland was encouraged and said it was the best revival he has ever had in their history. 75 people were saved on this day. 06 Jan 2012 Friday Travel Home TOTAL SAVED: 536 Left: Matt Goodman & Pastor Fernando baptize in the Caribbean Sea
