Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:36-38 From Pastor Ralph... This is an exciting time of year. Summer is ending and cooler weather is just around the corner. Football season is beginning, and every fan is full of hope. A new school year has begun along with new schedules for students and families. If there really are lazy days of summer, they are gone now. Busy characterizes this time of year, and Americans love the perception of being busy; it makes us feel important to have so many options and so much to do. However, just being busy does not fill our souls. A hectic lifestyle often just masks the emptiness inside. And being too busy can crowd out the things that matter most, the things that really bring fulness to life. It is only God who can fill our soul. Jesus said, I came that you might have life in all its fullness, John 10:10. The prophet Isaiah said, Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters...come, buy drink without money and without cost. Why spend money on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare... Hear me that your soul may live, Isaiah 55:1-3. As you plan your schedule for the fall, don t invest too much time on the things that do not satisfy. Pursue God, and your soul will delight in the richest of fare. How? Set aside daily time to be with 1 God, to know Him, and to be transformed by renewing your mind. Take at least 15 minutes each day in the Bible and in prayer. In His presence is joy! Make Sunday mornings a sacred 2 time for worship with God s people. He is speaking to us each week. Be committed to a small group. 3 Year after year, those who continue to grow most in Christ are those committed to a small groups. Serve in ministry. We grow and 4 help others grow as we give. With so many new people at Harvest right now, we need ushers and parking attendants to help people who are in an unfamiliar place park and find a seat. We all need to wecome, connect, and minister to the people Jesus loves and died for. Plan to attend and ask God to fill 5 you at the Fall Renewal Conference. Practice an awareness of God s 6 presence all throughout the day. Talk to Him throughout the day. Ask Him to fill you completely with 7 His Holy Spirit. Schedule times to be filled and renewed. Drink deeply of His living water that satisfies your soul!

Financial Peace Testimony from April 2014 Class: Through Financial Peace and prayer, my life is well on its way to being more controlled. Charge cards took over my impulsive side, and I was out of control for sure. I ve known this for a while and was doing some of [Dave Ramsey s] suggestions, but in the wrong order, so they weren t working. Thank you for teaching the class! To the next group I say: 1. Cut up your charge cards! 2. Follow the steps Dave Ramsey has set up. His baby steps will work. 3. Be financially mature and remember that God is first, you are second, and bills are third. 4. Tithe - it helps the work of the church and creates a less selfish more Godlike you. 5. Give yourself cash for the things you NEED not WANT. 6. Set up a cash flow plan each month and follow it. The April 2014 group (7 families) paid off a total debt of $38, 510. If you are struggling with paying off debt and being financially secure, join us for Financial Peace University on September 17. Join us on Sundays at 6:30pm! This year s youth conference was a massive success. We experienced God move among our students in a powerful way by giving their lives to Christ and rededicating their lives to Him as well. Students confessed sin and received God s healing and forgiveness and we experienced great times in worship each night as the YFN band led us. Every night Tony s messages were engaging and focused on the power of the gospel to change our lives. We had more students this year than we have before in the history of the conference. Praise God for that. Our hope and prayer is that the change God brought about in our students will be lasting and effective for not only this school year but for the rest of their lives. There were many people involved to make this conference a success, from the pastors and staff members, to all of the volunteers that signed up to help with registration, games, food, and chaperoning. Thank you for your willingness to serve the Lord with joy. I pray God will bless you richly for investing in the youth of our church and area.
