1 First Edition November 2018 First Baptist Church of San Mateo 2801 Alameda de las Pulgas San Mateo, CA Reaching out to international students Inbox OUR MISSIONARIES AT WORK The South Asian Social at Sac State connected many students from India with local Christians from India. (Can you see me - the only white guy - in the photo?). Also, we did mobile mapping at Sac City College and UC Davis. Van, our intern, and I made the Sac City College Facebook page doing mobile mapping. Our group will do mobile mapping next week at American River College and Sierra College too. Mobile mapping involves walking around campus and asking students to put a sticky dot on their home town. If they put the dot on somewhere outside of the USA we explain about our group and invite them to come to our activities. When we did mobile mapping at Sac City College, we invited several students to come to our weekly Talk Time activity (free pizza and conversation) and two or three new students have been coming each week! After Talk Time at Sac City we have Bible Discussion and this week three non-christians stayed for Bible Discussion. We have also had two well attended International Student Dinners in Sacramento where students heard salvation testimonies from international student leaders. Praise God with us for all these outreach opportunities! We appreciate you very much! You have prayed and supported us for 30 years now. Your part in what God did in and through us and the Japanese churches we started and worked with over those years took a lot of faith and perseverance. All of God s work there and here in Redding, CA are faithfully following HIM, praising, thanking and trusting HIM. Thank you. We have news to report. December 5, 2018 at 4:00 pm we will be at Shasta Co. Court to officially adopt our grand-daughters, Kylee (15 years old) and Bethany (12 years old) Their daddy, our son Joshua, you may remember, had brain cancer and finished his workon earth 10 tears ago. Three years ago we finished our work in Japan and now, at 69 and 70 years of age, we are in a new chapter of making disciples together with Kylee and Bethany to make Christ s mercy, compassion, and Gospel Kingdom Family known here and in Japan and in Jordan through our daughter and her family. College/Career Fellowship - Sundays 12:30-2:00 pm Part 3 of our True University Series - Who is Jesus? As always, we have great discussions together about the topic we are discussing but are relating it to our own personal relationship in knowing Jesus. Lunch provided. FBC YOUTH Mid-Week - Combined CAD and TNT (High/Jr. High) - Tuesday Nights 7:15-9:00 pm Our teaching direction for our mid-week youth group meeting focusing on Walking with the Lord in our lives.
