Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Matthew 9:36-38 From Pastor Keith... On August 30, Pastor Ralph talked about the importance of forgiving others as you have been forgiven. This truly is one of the first steps in walking out your faith. You have to have faith that God has forgiven you which then empowers and inspires you to forgive others. Many of you who have been attending Harvest this past year have been a part of what I believe to be a fresh move of God in our church and country. There is no question in my mind that God is moving. Whenever a move of God starts, satan and his forces try to counter that move with a move of their own (Ephesians 6:12). There is no way the enemy is going to sit by and watch people who were formally bound up by bitterness, resentment, and other sins walk into freedom without countering an offensive move against the church. So how should we respond to these attacks? Fight back! Don t sit and watch the enemy walk into your life and walk back out with your joy over his shoulder. Turn to the scripture for reassurance of the truth that the Holy Spirit is already speaking over your life. I believe one of the challenges a lot of Christians face is feeling like they have to be passive when it comes to confrontation. I am not advocating for you to become aggressive with other people who offend you. When it comes to other people we should be growing in humility, but when it comes to the enemy our response should be quick and decisive. James 4:4-8 gives a great outline for what our position should be. Take a step back and ask the Holy 1 Spirit to pinpoint sin in your life, then quickly repent of unbelief or whatever you might have turned to instead of turning to God when the attack came. Step your prayer life way up. If 2 you were praying 15 minutes a day, double it. Look up promises of God from scripture in your concordance or internet search engine, and remind yourself of what God has promised you. It won t be a new Cadillac, but it will be exactly what you need for your crisis. Once you have submitted to God, 3 resist the devil in Jesus name and praise God for your victory. During this time the Lord may be showing you open doors in your life that the enemy has been using as access to your life. Close them and board the door up. After you have prayed and 4 praised, call three people in your small group that God brings to your mind that need encouragement and let them know you are praying for them. I think it s a good idea to pray with them when you call if they have time, but definitely pray right when you hang up. Walk in your healing and don t give it away. I am looking forward to praising God for the victory together with you corporately on Sunday.

This worship time is special because it involves worship teams from at least four different churches coming together to encourage unity and prayer in our community. Adult Choir - The Choir is beginning to prepare for the Harvest Family Christmas service in December. Rehearsals resume on Sunday, September 13, from 5:15-6:15pm in room 205 (upstairs Education Building). Ministry teams Director of Ministries Mothers Room Ministry Team: We re excited to announce this brand new ministry team! Those serving on this team have an unique opportunity to minister to the needs of those who utilize the Mothers Room on a regular basis. Sandy Uhler Spiritual Gifts Discovery At Harvest our goal is to help you discover your spiritual gifts and acts of service. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us that God has given each of us special gifts and calls us to use them to serve one another. Crafters Guild Join us for our next meeting on Saturday, September 19! Have you wanted to learn a skill such as sewing, crocheting, painting, etc.? Do you know these skills and want to put them to good use? Our group will meet every other Saturday at 10am in room 106. We will have an instructor come demonstrate an easy-to-learn project. We will then sell these to raise money for the benevolence fund. Bring $5 for supplies (provided) and $10 if you would like to take a project home with you. It is time for our annual training event. This training is essential for NEW volunteers as well as VETERAN volunteers. Dinner will be served and childcare is available for you upon request in the online registration. Kids Baptism Class This class is for children who have made a decision to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior and who are learning what it means to have a personal relationship with Him. It gives them an opportunity to understand the commitment that they are making before they are baptized. This 3-week class will include 2 classes for students only and concludes with a final celebration for students and their families. The next session will begin Wednesday, September 23, at 5:30pm in KZ Theatre, B-210. Register no later than September Children s Ministry 20 online or by calling the Children s Ministry Office.
