OUR LORD SPEAKS TO US Old Testament Reading: Isaiah 40:6-8 Flawed, dying, sinful, limited creatures living in a cursed and decaying earth doesn t leave much room for joy or hope. However, God s Word which provides rescue from sin and gives certain hope through Christ, remains unchanging, constant and sure there is where we find joy and hope! Dale Redlin Epistle Reading: Philippians 1:3-11 The Apostle Paul s love for the Philippian Christians and his fond remembrance of them centered on their shared love of the Gospel and the mutual faith they shared in their Savior. Gospel Reading: Acts 1:12-26 Congregational Welcome (sung): Glory be to You, O Lord! Luke s report of what the Apostles did during the 10 days between Jesus Ascension and Pentecost. Our Confession of Faith in the Apostolic Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. Meal service will begin with the Eichstadt family, after which each table will be directed to the food. WSO Divisions 1&2 are serving. Gal. 3:26-27 NKJV Jeremy Kevin Paul Jenkins was baptized in a private ceremony at Immanuel Lutheran Church on May 3, 2016 by Pastor Wayne Eichstadt. The baptism was witnessed by his family: Jennifer Jenkins, Hattie Jenkins, and Easton Jenkins. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body and have all been made to drink into one Spirit. 1 Cor. 12:13 NKJV ILC Student Aid Fund (SAF): Currently the SAF has an unexpected negative balance due to very low investment earnings this year. We are anticipating a negative $15,000 balance at the end of this academic year, unless offerings to the SAF help resolve this. The SAF is the fund that supports Immanuel students through loans, grants, and scholarships. Please consider this in your offerings to support the Lord's work. Our current students can be greatly helped as the Immanuel experience positively impacts them in their faith journey. Former Immanuel students are encouraged to consider the SAF in their offerings so that current students may also receive the same benefits they once received. for providing Immanuel with an associate pastor for the past 18 years one who has shared the truths of Your Word.
