3 Announcements Sunday school and Bible class Today s lesson is The Presentation of Jesus in the temple. Already in infancy Jesus was fulfilling the Law for us and for our salvation. Ask your children: What happened in the temple? Who was there waiting for the promised Savior? What does this account tell us about what to expect in God s house? Little books with a big message Wednesday s Bible class will study two small books of the New Testament: Philemon and Jude. While small in size, both have major importance as messages from God Himself. Save the dates! Ash Wednesday, March 6, begins the season of Lent, during which we gather for midweek evening services to meditate upon our desperate need for a Savior from sin and eternal death, but especially to ponder the depths of Christ s love in His suffering and death upon the cross in behalf of sinners everywhere. If you haven t done so already, set aside these Wednesday evenings on your calendar: March 6, 13, 20, 27 and April 3, 10. Seminar Saturday A seminar on Christian Masculinity and Femininity will be held at Peace Thru Christ, Middleton, on Saturday, March 2, from 3-5 p.m. A meal will follow. C Amen. Gloria Patri CLC call news... Teacher Andrew Roehl of Eau Claire, WI has received a call to Valley Bible Academy, Clarkston, WA. Update Elaine Laakaniemi was recently hospitalized for a short time for further tests. It was determined that her symptoms were caused by a meningioma pressing against her brain. Anti-seizure medications have been prescribed, and it is hoped that they will prevent any further difficulties. Kyrie 9 2

Dear Lord God: With all the members of the Holy Christian Church, we praise You for rescuing us from sin and unbelief and adopting us into Your family by faith in Jesus. You have clothed us with His perfect holiness. You laid on Him the iniquity of us all. Incredibly, You have made us fellow heirs with Jesus of eternal life. What a comfort to know that our sins are gone! What peace is ours in the assurance that all is well! What incentive to live for You in Your words: I have called you by name. You are mine! By the working of the Holy Spirit, empower us to reflect Your mercy in our words and actions toward family members, classmates, coworkers, and all others we meet. Move us to love even our enemies and to generously share the gifts You have so freely given us. Above all, grant us a forgiving spirit which does not hold grudges or harbor hatred toward anyone. No matter what the offense against us, may we forgive as freely and completely as You continually forgive each of us. Salutation and Collect of the Day P The Lord be with you. We thank You for Your loving care for all our needs during this time of grace on earth. You wonderfully supply food, home, friends, family, medical care, and so much more. Thank You for Your loving care for Elaine Laakaniemi and for giving her physicians and medications to treat her illness. We praise You, as well, for the healing you have given Michael Gill, and we ask that You would continue to bless his recovery. Thank You for all the gifts You provided Gerhardt Beske throughout his life and for now receiving him into heaven. Comfort his family with Your promise of the resurrection and reunion to come. P Let us pray: O Lord, make us instruments of Your peace that we share with all other people the gift of Your love and forgiveness; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. You lighten our burdens with the gift of marriage and family. We share the joy today of Andrew Gerbitz and Madie Ehlers who have announced their plans to be joined as one in marriage. Bless them during this time of preparation and anticipation. In Your mercy receive our offerings. May they always flow from loving and generous hearts. May these gifts be productive in the work of spreading the news of Jesus as Savior. Fill the week ahead with Your overflowing gifts according to Your good will. In Jesus name. Amen. Epistle lesson: P The Epistle lesson is recorded in 1 Corinthians 15:35-38a, God blesses us with Christ s victory over death and promises the resurrection of the body. P This is the Word of the Lord. Apostles Creed C I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.
