Moravan Club Picnic Sunday, August 12 th The Czechoslovak Moravan Club will hold its 83rd Picnic on August 12, 2018 at the Binghamton German Club, 218 Loughlin Rd, Binghamton, NY from noon until 6 pm. The Czechoslovak Moravan Club Folk Dancers will entertain you with traditional folk dances from the Czech and Slovak Republics! George Tarasek and Polka Partners Orchestra will play polka favorites for your listening and dancing pleasure! Holubky, Pirohy, Klobasy, and other old world dishes, pastries, and pivo (Czech and German beer) will be available for purchase. Admission is $3. Children under 12 are admitted free when accompanied by an adult.

6 Trinity Canteen Sunday, July 29 th Once again it is time for St. Paul s to prepare and serve a meal at the Trinity Canteen. On Sunday, July 29 th, Chip Kinne will be coordinating this no prior experience required and little to no cooking skills are required either. The main dish will be prepared the day before so cooking will either simply require reheating or sliding pans in and out of the oven. The group will leave St. Paul s at 10 a.m. with all the fixings for a great meal. A few people will be needed on Saturday, July 28 th for an hour or two in St. Paul s kitchen to help with the meal preparation. As always, we look for donations of bananas, brownies (no nuts PLEASE), and salad. A signup sheet is at the back of the church for volunteers for Saturday, Sunday, and for donations of food. This event takes a few hours of our time, but is a very rewarding and uplifting experience. If you have any questions, please see Chip Kinne. All Saints Soup & Sandwich Saturdays All Saints Episcopal Church in Johnson City offers a community Soup and Sandwich lunch every Saturday. During the college school year many Binghamton University students help with this ministry but, of course, they are not around during the summer, creating a shortage of people to help with this ministry. All Saints has requested our help on the fourth Saturdays of the summer. These dates are: July 28 and August 25. If you are able to help with this (and enjoy lunch as well!), please sign up on the form in the back of the church.

7 Ice Cream Social Wednesday, August 15 th, 6:00 PM 8:00 PM St. Paul s Annual Community Ice Cream Social is being held this year on Wednesday, August 15 th at 6:00 PM. Come out and enjoy some delicious Hershey s Ice Cream, animals from the Zoo Mobile and try your luck at our Raffle Table. We will also try our hand at face painting! This free event is open to all so be sure to invite your friends, neighbors and family. Help is needed to make this event happen and there are jobs for everyone! Tables, chairs and tents need to be set up, ice cream scoopers are needed, help with clean-up afterwards and even someone to make sure all our guests fill out a raffle ticket for the baskets. Your pay? All the ice cream you can eat! Look for a sign-up sheet in the back of the church later in July or see me. I am ready to take names! Eunice Barton Stained-Glass Window Dedication Sunday, August 19 th, 11:30 AM The dedication of the stained-glass window from the Temple Beth El will be held on Sunday, August 19 th, at 11:30 a.m. in the Bernice Gould Memorial Chapel. We welcome the members of the Cahn family, who donated the window, and our brothers and sisters from the former Temple Beth El. Some of you will remember worshipping in their building in the 1950s as our current church structure was being built. Please join us for the dedication of this renovated window as it adorns our chapel. Father John+

8 All Saints 100 th Anniversary Sunday, July 29 th, 11:30AM to 3:00PM All Saints is celebrating its 100 th Anniversary this year. They will be holding a block party/picnic on Sunday, July 29 th from 11:30 to 3:00 (after the 10:00 a.m. service) on church grounds at 475 Main Street, Johnson City, NY. Everyone is welcome to come. Spread the word! Hotdogs, hamburgers, salt potatoes, baked beans, cake and drinks will be provided. Please come! Concerts in the Park Tuesdays, 7:00 P.M. at Highland Park in Endwell Once again, the Endwell League of Community Action is sponsoring a slate of free concerts at Highland Park beginning at 7:00 P.M. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy these summer offerings! Our CHOW clients will be looking for school supplies for their children. Back packs and other items may be placed in the box at the rear of the church or in the office. For your convenience, please take the enclosed shopping list with you. These are items the Union-Endicott School District website has posted which is where the majority of our clients children attend school.
