Helping hands will also be needed from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday to pack up the unsold rummage, carry bags upstairs for hauling away, and returning the Parish Hall to its normal condition for the next day. Signup sheets are at the back of the church specifying time frames for all tasks. If you have any questions, please see Eunice Barton. Sandy Schwab, Chairperson Items Needed for Rummage Sale It s time to start cleaning out your closets! Any items that you no longer need can be brought to the Rummage Room. 7 Healing Service On Sunday, September 30 both services will offer a Service of Healing. This is a time for you to come forward and pray for yourself and others and ask that God s gracious gift of His healing Spirit come upon you and the person you are praying for. It is our prayer that through the anointing with oil God s grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind and body. St. James in his Epistle states anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick and the Lord will raise them up; and anyone who has committed sin will be forgiven. (5:14-15) Father John+ Prayer Strips Treat others with kindness. Is there someone/something in your life that St. Paul s could pray for? As part of the Learning Communities Initiative, a booth at the August Ice Cream Social encouraged attendees to write their prayer requests onto strips of material. More than 20 prayer strips were generated, ranging from specific needs, healing to general prayers for unity in the community and peace in the world. These strips are posted in the narthex and undercroft alongside our God Sightings bulletin boards. Several church members have expressed interest and a desire to continue creating prayer strips. If you are interested, look for a box at the rear of the church labeled Your Prayers, along with instructions. Also, look for artwork our neighborhood children (and adults) drew at the social and now decorate our CE building windows (courtyard side). St. Paul s gladly accepts these artistic gifts from our neighborhood brethren. Deb Wirag
