2 A word from the GENERAL DIRECTOR Welcome to the first issue of our quarterly Prayer Diary. This has been introduced to replace the monthly Prayer Focus and we trust you will find it easy to use, informative and a valuable source of fuel for prayer and praise. In this issue you will find specific items of news for each day through until the end of September. As a Mission we see a number of changes of personnel during the summer. Danny & June Chambers, who have served with us for more than thirty years, retire at the end of July. Also, Joe & Ann McNeilly retire at the end of September, having given forty-seven years to the work. Due to chronic back pain Leslie Brush and his wife Mabel are taking extended leave of absence following the summer camps. Ian & Hazel Gilkinson have accepted the invitation to lead the work at Ballymena Independent Methodist Church and will leave us in August. We wish each of these couples God s richest blessing in the days to come. In the light of these staff changes the following arrangements come into effect during the summer: General Director and Treasurer: John Townend Finance Manager: Carole Townley Director of Human Resources: Iain Macleod Director for Scotland: Donnie Macleod (while continuing to be based in Inverness) South Scottish District Superintendent: Gordon Thomson (while continuing to operate from the Glasgow area) North Irish District Superintendent: Timothy Condy (Tim & Emma will relocate from Canada in the autumn) For us, Tim & Emma s return to the work here is a wonderful provision from the Lord, but The Faith Mission (in Canada) will greatly feel their loss. We ask that you pray with them for God s provision of appropriate personnel to take up the work in Hamilton, Ontario. At this stage we are still seeking the Lord s direction regarding the right people to take responsibility for the work in the South West English District. Later in the year Daniel & Grace Howson will move to the Earlesfield Estate to enable them to be more fully involved in the work there. Graduating Bible College students Kyan & Clair Frith will move to Harby to take responsibility for the Centre and outreach into the surrounding villages. Needless to say, we value prayer for God s direction and provision as these changes take effect. Points for Prayer & Praise Stephen & Cynthia Walker are encouraged... The Christianity Explored course in the coffee shop has been an amazing opportunity with several folk gathered who are searching. Pray for the light of the truth to change hearts. Also Sports Reach soccer school brought seventeen enthusiastic children and the Word of God had an impact. Some stayed behind for counselling. Carol Cummings is excited... It s been great to have such openness at Fort William Primary School for Bible Alive. The kids ask good, challenging and entertaining questions such as, How can I have Jesus in my life?, Does the Holy Spirit get recycled into someone else when you get to heaven? and How does being a Christian affect your life? I m excited that four schools want to book Bible Alive. Pray for these new openings and for my preparations.
