Secret ingredients like Dragon s Blood will give us youthful looking skin and reduce signs of aging. Millions is being spent on these products in the hope that we might be young again. It seems as if hope and quality of life has been packaged in how we look. Everyone must have six pack abs, gym membership, personal trainers and special diet plans. Celebrities that our now our role models work hard to stay and look young. We have made beauty our idol. And our sexuality is tied into this youthful beautiful obsession for the physical, the sensual, and the visual. Sex has become a commodity that can be used, taken from someone until it no longer fulfils my needs. But where lies true beauty, true value. God tells us we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are made in his image and full of value as his creation. So valued, that he sent his one and only son to die for us and make a way to his family. Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. A relationship with Jesus is the key to life. Beauty is fleeting no matter how hard we try to grasp it. Pleasures are momentary and will never fulfil the greatest longing of our hearts. To know love, forgiveness and hope which can only be found through Jesus. God bless Pastor Stephen

3 Mission Exposure trip WEC Base Sydney 29 th April to 6 th May 2016 The Cross Cultural Mission Team is organizing a one week mission exposure trip to the WEC base in Sydney. The team will be a maximum of 8 people heading off late afternoon Friday 29 th April and returning afternoon of Friday 6 th May. The WEC base sits in a very multicultural area in western Sydney. Aims of the trip Opportunities for cross cultural awareness in multicultural areas of inner west of Sydney To gain some firsthand insights into current candidates preparing to serve as missionaries doing orientation at the WEC centre. Job projects including a fence replacement, a new kitchen in a unit, grounds and general property maintenance. Support and awareness of Stephen and Coralie Preston s role with WEC If you are interested or would like some further information, please see Pastor Stephen. Giving towards our Youth and Children s Vision In taking our step of faith in investing and developing our youth and children s ministry, we have an opportunity to give towards our youth and children s coordinator. There are some envelopes labelled Youth and Children s Vision at the rear of the church or you can give electronically through the church account (details on the back of the UB News). With electronic giving, please clearly state giving to the Youth and Children s vision. Many thanks, church leadership. New Songs Jam Session Sunday 21 st Feb 11:30am For our singers and musicians, we will be working through a few new and newer songs from 11:30am to about 1pm after our morning service. HOST TEAM MEETING Sun 28th Feb 11am-12noon For all those who are currently involved in this ministry we encourage all to be in attendance at this meeting as we are looking at changing the roster and discussing the ministry focus. 4 Young Adult Life Group The next Livin it will be Wed 24th Feb 7pm at Pastor Stephen and Kathryn s place 10 Cluan Cres, Ulverstone. Youth Leaders Retreat 12 & 13 th March Daniel Hutchison (Youth and Young Adults Pastor Citywide Baptist) is hosting a state wide youth leaders retreat from 10am Saturday to 2pm Sunday, 12 th and 13 th March at Camp Banksia, Port Sorell. RSVP 19 th Feb. Registration forms at the back of the church. For more info, contact Pastor Stephen. Rhys Cunningham will be coordinating youth group this year. He is looking for a team to work with him in the vision to see youth become active followers of Jesus impacting others for Christ. There will be a gathering over lunch 12:45pm on Sunday 21 st Feb for those interested in being part of the team or supporting this ministry. See Rhys or Pastor Stephen if you plan to attend. Nerrelie Cann and Nicole Meijer will be coordinating Kids Church and are looking to put together a team. More details will be coming so watch this space.

Thirst Men 19 th March Bridge of Life are hosting Thirst Men s outreach on Sat 19 th March. This is an opportunity for men to bring their mates who are interested in finding out more about Christ. This film takes us into the lives of Christians in Northern Nigeria being persecuted by Boko Haram. There will be an opportunity over supper to ask questions, purchase resources and find out further information. An offering will be taken up for the work of Open Doors on the night.
