Children s Talk and Easter Egg Hunt Praise 255 (JP) v 1,2 This is the Day Following the hymn Little Fishes is available for children aged between 0 3 years old. Little Fishes is supervised so parents may return into the church service. Children (3-11 years) may leave for Kingfishers. We follow a programme of Bible teaching, activities include storytelling, art and craft, prayers as well as songs. We help the children learn about Jesus and grow in their faith in a fun way. Young people (Year 8 Year 10) may leave for Disciples an interactive program helping our Young Teens to find their place in our church Family. Older Teens (Year 11-14) are encouraged to remain in the service and worship with the congregation. Lord of life, Hear our prayer. And so we pray now for change in our world, for change in all those places where there is human need. We pray for the poor, the homeless, the sick and the hungry. Lord of life, Hear our prayer. We pray for the victims of war, for refugees, for divided communities and countries, Lord of life, Hear our prayer. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead. On the third day he rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead. PRAYER MINISTRY Members of the Church s Prayer Ministry Team are available in the Prayer Chapel following morning worship for anyone who would like people to pray for them. Prayer is available to everyone whether you are a church member or not. SUNDAY 8th April 2018 Sunday Morning Fellowship in the Minor Hall between 10:20am and 10:50am. Everyone is welcome. This week John will speak on Forbidden Desire and the Surgical Cure from Genesis 39:6-12; Matthew 5: Sunday Night Live starts at 7.00pm (Praise & Pudding evening). 7 PRAYER POINTS from MERVYN and RAING A state of emergency was declared in Sri Lankan earlier this month due to an outbreak of violence between Buddhist and Muslims in the Kandy area of Sri Lanka, specifically in the towns of Digana, Balagolla and Teldeniya. Social media was curtailed across the country and a curfew was imposed in a small number of upcountry districts. The situation has now returned to normal. Nevertheless these events are a reflection of some of the wider socio political undercurrents in Sri Lankan society and there is an urgent need for the churches to act together with greater commitment and speed for reconciliation with people of all faiths and ethnicities. Please pray for all those who have been affected by the recent violence. Pray for the National Christian Council of Sri Lanka as it reaches out heal those who have been affected and to build trust and understanding across divided communities. Pray for the present and future leadership of the churches in Sri Lanka that they would be true servant leaders witnessing to your kingdom.

8 Pray especially for Mervyn & Raing, that they would be full of God s love for each other and all those around them as they serve you in Sri Lanka through the NCCSL and the church and particularly as they seek to discern the right way ahead in their third year of service. Pray that their work would realise God s calling in their lives. Amy Carmichael s Lasting Legacy On the 19 th April from 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM in Millisle and Ballycopeland Presbyterian Church. Admission is Free.

9 This event will celebrate the legacy of Amy Carmichael, one of the world s best known and inspirational missionaries, who was born 150 years ago in Millisle, County Down. It will also look at the issue of slavery today, a subject that was close to Amy's heart. 150th Anniversary Celebration of the birth of Amy Carmichael Amy Carmichael, one of the world s best known and inspirational missionaries, was born 150 years ago in Millisle, Co. Down, where she attended Ballycopeland Presbyterian Church with her family. As a young adult she served the Lord locally, founding a mission in Belfast to the shawlies (women in the mills who wore shawls), before devoting her life to missionary service overseas. Amy spent most of her life in India, where she founded the Dohnavur Fellowship in 1901, an organisation devoted to rescuing girls and young women from slavery. She also wrote numerous books which continue to inspire many in their Christian life and service today.
