1 From Our Friend The Dictionary: Thankvember 2015 Thankvember [thank-vem-ber] noun 1. the eleventh month of the year, containing 30 days. 2. a month of the year on which one blessing each day is shared with others and lifted to God. 3. the month on which the fourth Thursday will be set aside for thanking God and feasting. Okay, so maybe that word only exists in my dictionary, but here s the concept for the month you probably call November: Sometime during each day this month, think of one thing (person, place, or thing) for which you are thankful. Come up with a different thing each day. You might want to share that with others. I plan to share mine on Facebook. You might want to make a list. Most importantly, share with God - Thank you, God! At the end of the month, there will be thirty blessings in your life that you have counted and shared and for which you have thanked God. I m thankful for God, for family, for life and health and daily bread, for... my list will go on and on. Yours will too. I m thankful for Liberty Chapel. You have gone over the top with pastor appreciation month. Sherry, Leah, and I have certainly been blessed with your love. We have appreciated each card, crown, snack, toilet paper, gift card, baby doll, firewood, dinner, and other random kindnesses. I was trying to quantify your gifts and my thanks. It s about seven pounds. (At least that s what my scales said.) In the time we have been here, I have been impressed with your deep spirituality, your love for Jesus, and your love for one another. The youth still have no idea that we haven t a clue what we re doing (but we re having a blast doing it). In October we ve: Gotten lost in Corn Mazes, been scared in Haunted Fields, cheered on our volley ball team, conquering all things with God on our side (Romans 8): living up to our name: Firestarters by igniting our faith by practicing it. We ve seen how God restores things to us in His time (ask Spike about his Bible and its incredible journey to Mexico) Discussed All Hallows Eve and how in the end we win so don t be scared. Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry & Clothing Closet The Pantry & Closet will be open Monday, November 17, 6-7:30 pm & Friday November 21, 9 11:00 am. Days and hours for our new food pantry have been set: 3 rd Monday of every month 6:00-7:30 pm and the following Friday of that week, 9:00 11:00 am. Six to eight volunteers are needed to help each time to meet and greet, set-up and takedown, help carry out food and to help people in other ways. The Clothing Closet is open at the same times as Bountiful Blessings. This is another much-needed outreach. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the office.
