1 I m glad to be back home in Farmland. The wheat harvest has been fascinating for us to watch. I read the Ohio forecast this year was 67 bushel per acre. How d you do? I enjoy seeing the fertile fields full of crops. It s great to see straight rows, nice stands, and weed-free fields. But when you get right down to it, it s all about the yield. How d you do? Fruit of the Spirit will be my teaching series beginning Sunday, August 3. The next nine weeks will focus on these fruit: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We are saved by grace through faith. There s nothing that we can do to earn our salvation. But Christians should live differently from the world. This list of fruit are nine attributes that challenge Christians to live distinctively. As we mature in the faith, the Holy Spirit through Sanctifying Grace grows these fruit in us. Most of you have been walking with the Lord - some of you for a short time, others for many years. Are you growing in these fruit? I enjoy seeing the church full of people with wonderful music, warm fellowship, children s laughter, loving outreach, and delicious strawberry pie. But when you get right down to it, it s all about the yield. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. How are you doing? Come and bring your friends. So we survived the Summer Youth Trip and had a great time with the kids and appreciate all of your prayers and financial support. I guess the big question is what now?

Recently we had Pizza with the Pastor. It was a time for the youth to get to know our new Pastor and for him to get to know them. It was great fun.

It was during this meeting that someone asked me why we (Tenny and I) do this. I answered rather quickly because you see it s rather simple-we love your kids with all our hearts.

Where is YF and JRYF without the benefit of the leadership we had in Jimmy Bright, youth pastor extraordinaire? Well, we re right here, just like we ve always been. Recently we had Pizza with the Pastor. It was a time for the youth to get to know our new Pastor and for him to get to know them. It was great fun. We taught Leah how to play kick ball YF style and I think she stole a few bases. She defiantly has a whole passel of new babysitters lined up. It was during this meeting that someone asked me why we (Tenny and I) do this. I answered rather quickly because you see it s rather simple-we love your kids with all our hearts. We have a passion to make sure that they know who Christ is and why they need a personal relationship with him. I think I can speak for all the YF leaders-spike, John, Cara & John Bowers and of course me and Tenny when I say we ll miss Jimmy and Casey-it won t be the same without them but here s to a bold new frontier, new faces, new ideas, new games (don t panic KTC will always be played in our hallowed halls) and new Adventures. YF HOT DOGS, CHIPS, DRINKS AND FELLOWSHIP KIDS----PLEASE BRING YOUR PARENTS SO THEY CAN SIGN YOU UP AND GET TO KNOW HELPERS AND LEADERS. Bountiful Blessings Food Pantry & Clothing Closet The Pantry & Closet will be open Monday, August 18, 6-7:30 pm & Friday August 22, 9 11:00 am Days and hours for our new food pantry have been set: 3 rd Monday of every month 6:00-7:30 pm and the following Friday of that week, 9:00 11:00 am. Six to eight volunteers are needed to help each time to meet and greet, set-up and takedown, help carry out food and to help people in other ways. The Clothing Ministries is open at the same times as Bountiful Blessings. This is another much-needed outreach. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the office. Our Clothing Closets are Full!! The only donations that we can accept at this time are Kids School Clothes and Shoes starting at Children s size 5-6 up to and including Youth Large.
