1 Is anyone among you sick? May 2018 For Liberty Chapel, the answer is, "Yes". Lately, it seems like we have had an unusual number of persons with rather significant health concerns. Of course, I doubt there are minor health concerns. A wise old doctor once told me, "Minor surgery is what happens to somebody else." I am grateful for medical science and the caring, skill, and wisdom of medical professionals. I marvel at breakthroughs and new therapy options. I am thankful for Jesus, the Great Physician, the power of prayer, and scriptural promises like this one: Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. (James 5:14-15a NKJV) I am pleased to be part of a church family who genuinely cares for one another not just church members, but others in the community as well. 2 May 2018 May is finally upon us! I m more excited for the changing of months than usual as I get married this month! I m super excited to get married on May 27 th. Between that and our Sr. High mission trip I will be missing several Sundays in the next couple of months. As much as I ll miss being at church, I definitely won t be upset at all while exploring Ireland on my honeymoon! Marin and I are really excited to start our lives together and want to celebrate with you, our church family. Please join us for an open house reception at the church from 5-8 pm on June 8th. No gifts please. There will be desserts and refreshments. Wednesday night ministries will officially end for the school year on May 16 th. It s been a great year of spiritual growth and I am extremely happy to look back on the year and see how much all of the kids and teenagers at our church have grown in their faith. A big thank you to all of the leaders who have spent the school year pouring into these kid s lives! The Sr High mission trip is June 9-15 in Chattanooga, TN. The Jr High mission trip is June in Indianapolis, IN. All students and adults attending these trips will have a mission trip training on May 6 th from 2-5:30 pm. At 2 we will start with a brief informational meeting for parents and students before our training for those attending the trips. Have a great May! Pastor Tom
