Ron Kinsey Administrative Assistant Pastor s Ponderings As I look back over my life, I am in awe and wonder of God who has placed me in different situations so that I have met people who have influenced my life in good and not so good ways, people who have shown me what it is like to live as a growing Christian, and so many places I have seen and been able to say thank you to God. I can hardly believe all that I have seen and experienced in my life. I never thought as a young girl growing up in a small college town in western Pennsylvania that I would have resided in 5 different states and 12 different communities. I would have laughed if you had told me in high school that I would have a Master of Divinity degree and be a fully ordained elder in the United Methodist Church. As a young college woman I would have been surprised if someone told me that in just a few short years I would meet and marry a such a wonderful loving man as Mark Babb (this month we are celebrating 28 years of marriage too!) When all of us look over our lives we are surprised where God has led us and how God has led us. Most folks can't believe how their lives have changed from what their childhood dreams and aspirations were. It is part of the joy of living life with God. Yes, there have been times of trouble, but there is so much more joy and love and grace that we have experienced. The future is still the great unknown for humanity. None of us are able to accurately predict the future for themselves or for others. Sure, we can work for goals and can achieve them but for knowing all the details, nobody can know all of what it takes to reach our goals. In the next two months New Life UMC will be looking to the future. What is God s vision for this part of the Body of Christ? As I mentioned last month first we must determine our core values and then we must pray and talk about the vision of this church and of the community that surrounds this church. I hope you are willing to help shape the vision of this church so that it may be a vital, lifegiving instrument of God so that those who are members grow in their faith and those who know nothing about faith and its journey can come into a connection with our Lord, Jesus and find the faith that will fill every void in their lives. Amen. Pastor Remember the Day of Visioning on October 8 from 9am-noon. Be part of the future of New Life UMC! Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

2 page 2 For the Women Hello, September, WOW! How did that happen so soon? Most of us have been involved in a busy VBS, and our yard sale is being readied as I write this article, so we are not just sitting back and soaking up the summer sun; although that might be nice. On Tuesday, September 13, your Women's Fellowship Circle will meet at 1:30. We will be making plans for next year. Marsha Anderson will offer devotions and Mary Main will serve a light snack. District opportunities for September include the Heartland Annual on Sept. 17, 8:30am to 2pm, at Alma UMC. The speaker will be Jane P. White, and she will speak on human trafficking. An offering will be split between UM Community House's Maintenance Fund and Human Trafficking. Ingathering items will go for local women's shelters. Registration deadline is Sept. 1st, and the cost is $10. Women's Night Out will be Sept. 20, at Clare UMC. Dinner will be at 6:30, with a program at 7:30. Come and hear gospel music artist Jerry Garcia. Registration is due by Sept. 1, at a cost of $10. Ingathering items will go for Clare County Baby Pantry. Kelsey Recreation-Bingo is Sept. 20, from 2 to 3pm. Circle of Friends meet Sept. 26, at 7pm. Thanks, Mary Lou Botma UMW President It Comes To Be His promise will not fade away with the passing of our days But it shall surely come to be in what would seem, long delays. The time of restoration, come. He the Lord, will hasten it. The miracle to joy our hearts... His Spirit thus, empowers it. He the Creator of it all... Our very love and life, we live. It is upon His Name we call... His faithful promise, yes He gives. Nothing of ourselves, but Him, praises to our God be given. A little song, a little hymn... for wonders, overflowing Heaven!
