Our First Holy Communion families are especially asked to reserve this time. We will process from Mass to Grotto Plaza for the ceremony. All are invited. The St. Barnabas Men's Group meets Saturday mornings from 9:00am 10:00am, on the third floor of the Considine Center. All men in their 20s 40s are welcome. Please drop off all donations at the High School cafeteria. The food will be collected after the 1:00pm Mass. The rectory will not accept donations. Many thanks again for your generosity. We are collecting baby and toddler clothing, wipes, baby blankets, burp cloths, books, shampoo, soap and small toys, also Dollar for Diapers. All contributions will be given to the Pregnancy Care Center in Yonkers. Two sets of baby blankets with accessories available through raffle. Your support will be greatly appreciated. This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to be Good Shepherds to the hearts of the poor, to those who live in fear and doubt, loneliness and dread. Please the Society of St. Vincent de Paul barnabassvdp@gmail.com so that together we can help the suffering and poor. There will be a second collection here at Saint Barnabas on May 12th/13th with all proceeds to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Society. Lectio Divina Reflection: Today s Gospel is John 10: Examine the current cornerstone of your daily life. Does it support or contradict the message of faith? Observe how it functions in your life for a few days, and discern its value to your life as a Christian. Lectio Divina uses scripture to guide you to know God s love for you. Baptismal Instruction Classes If you would like to learn the culture, cuisine, customs, language and traditions of Italy please contact the 'Italian Cultural School' at (845) and/or at ItalianCulturalSchool@gmail.com. They are offering classes on Saturdays in May and June at St. Ann's School, Yonkers for 5 to 18 year olds. Parents wishing to have their children baptized at Saint Barnabas must attend one of the classes that are held normally on the second and fourth Monday of each month prior to arranging the child s baptism. The classes are held in the Considine Center at 7:00pm. Registration is required by calling the rectory office.
