2 Message From Assistant Vicar Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7) Dearly beloved, Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. There is a well-known story of a king who was so unhappy that he dispatched one of his men to go find a happy man. The king ordered, when you find a happy man, purchase his shirt and bring it back to me that I might wear it and also be happy. For years the king s emissary travelled and searched. He could not find a happy man. Finally, one day when he was walking in one of the poorer quarters of the poorest countries, he heard a man singing at the top of his voice. He followed the sound and found a man who was plowing a field. He asked the plowman Are you happy? The plow man replied, I have never known a day of unhappiness. The king s representative then told the plowman the purpose of his mission. The plowman laughed uproariously as he replied, Why man, I don t have a shirt. We live in an anxious world. Many of us are worry about future life. But knowingly or unknowingly they are ignorant about the blessings they have been experiencing in their day to day life. Some of the reasons for anxiety, worry, self-seeking, pride, sickness and lack of faith. We are ignorant about the truth that we are being sustained by God. Here St. Paul s gives some exhortations to the Philippian church. These exhortations are advisable for us to avoid our worries and to be happy. Do not be anxious about anything, because our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who bore the great burdens of our sins and sorrows upon himself for our redemption. He has been active today. Cling on to him, trust him and believe in the power of his blood. He will take care of us. Do not worry, but submit your burdens before the Lord in prayer. Prayer is the communion and communication with our Lord. Always chat with the lord in prayer. Let your connection active with the lord. If you are connected with the lord, the peace of god which surpasses all hearts, will protect us. This month we are celebrating All Saints day. Remember the forefathers and mothers who led and guided us. Follow the footsteps of the saints and be a wonderful worker of Christ, to save the fellow human beings. We are also celebrating kudosh Eetho (sanctification of the church) and Hudos Eetho (renewal of the church). Christ sanctified his church through his blood on the cross. We are sanctified by His grace. As a reformed church, we should be the channel of sanctification and also pray to God for the renewal of the church. We must submit ourselves for the renewal of our hearts. Also we are celebrating the annunciation to Virgin Mary and Zachariah submitted themselves for the will of God to establish the kingdom of god on this earth. God gave as the opportunity to celebrate the 40 th parish day. Last month our parish member Dr. Elizabeth George and many of our member s parents and relatives were taken in to heavenly abode. Especially our Sunday school student Master George has taken to the bosom of our Lord. May god be with the bereaved family and comfort them with his peace. Protect me, O God, for in you I take refuge. Psalms 16:1. May God bless us all. With love and prayers Sunil achen.
