2 Welcome 2 We are glad you are here! Thank you for joining us for worship this Sunday. Members of this congregation have been gathering here to worship since Over the past two centuries our congregation has changed, but our mission remains the same: to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We are inspired by the words of John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, who encouraged believers to do all the good you can, in all the ways you can. The residents of Wesley Woods are not total strangers. Some are persons who have worshipped with us in our local churches. Others are pastors and their spouses who have given themselves unselfishly in ministry in North Georgia. Still others are our neighbors in the spirit in which Jesus graciously designated them. 75 percent of Wesley Woods s residents require some financial assistance with housing annually. The Mother s Day Offering is the chief means of funding benevolent support at the nine different Wesley Woods communities. Please help with a charitable donation to honor your mother or grandmother this Mother s Day. Your gift gives love and hope to older adults in need. Newcomer Orientation Today Everyone is invited to attend Newcomer Orientation today Members of our church are invited to join us next Sunday, May 15, for an usher training session. Bill Trigleth and Martha Aenchbacher will explain the significance of serving as an usher and what it means to assist our congregation on Sunday mornings and special services. This will also be an opportunity for team leaders to introduce themselves. At the conclusion of the training, we will invite you to sign up to serve on a team throughout the year. We will equip families with "Take Out Church," which is a way for families to bring faith to life this summer. Each family will decorate a pizza box that will provide ways to worship God, grow as disciples, and love your neighbors. Each item in the box is designed to help us live into our mission as a church. 13 Music and Arts Week and VBS Music and Arts Week and Vacation Bible School are quickly approaching. There are several ways to support these programs. How can you help? 1. Pray. Pray for the children who will come to these camps. Pray for the leaders and volunteers who will help children discover that God loves them. 2. Register. If you have children or grandchildren currently in kindergarten through grade 4, Music and Arts Week is a great opportunity for them to discover the hidden treasure of Jesus. Camp is June 1-3, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Children who turned three by September 1, 2015, through those who are completing grade 4 are invited to Vacation Bible School, June 6-9, where they will learn to follow Jesus, the Light of the World. 3. Fill a Need. We need the items listed below. Donations can be made in the Galleria or in the basket behind the reception desk area.
