The short answer is we are losing money just not as fast! Budget 2017 Recap Income Total Expenses $296,000 Giving 162,000 Contributes 54% towards total expenses Rent 29,000 Contributes 10% towards total expenses Other 3,000 Contributes 1% towards total expenses Total 194,000 Shortfall 101,000 Actual 2017 thru September Planned (34% of total expenses) Actual Income 143, ,303 Expenses 222, ,237 Shortfall 78,962 44,934 (Losses) A lot has intervened since January. Our income is up because we gave more in our envelopes - $8,200 more than planned and other unplanned gifts. We are giving more than we did last year. This is a big turnaround from recent years, we can only hope that it s a trend. The lack of expenses for a called pastor is partially replaced by the cost of supply pastors and our vice pastor. We save about $7,500 a month without a called pastor. In general, our other expenses have stayed on plan. Yes, we are doing better we are losing less but sustainability over the long haul requires external rental income, trimming expenses, and most importantly more bottoms in the pews on Sunday. A challenge for our future pastor. Thank You Scan this symbol with your Smartphone to view our Church website Remember to visit our website! or like us on facebook under Redeemer Lutheran-Vineland Youth Facebook: ORLYOurRedeemerLutheranYouth Worship & Music Committee We are close to wishing 2017 goodbye and welcoming This means we need to start thinking about our plans for the New Year. The stewardship committee needs to do their thinking as well. We have had themes during the last few years. You may recall time, talent and treasure from a couple of years ago. We have also been concerned about the idea of touches, you may recall there was a tree of touches. This past year our emphasis has been on Volunteerism and Thank You. These ideas are important to us, no question. Keeping those in mind we want to look to We have a new theme for Pearl Buck once said bring them back alive. Our theme for this coming year will be to bring them back. Who is the them? Them are the folks who were members of Redeemer, those folks who may have attended Redeemer and those friends and neighbors who need a church to attend. Have you looked around on a Sunday morning and thought gee, I haven t seen so and so lately? It is our hope in this coming year that we can attract former members and new members to our church. Yes this requires time, talent and treasure. There will be a need for some to volunteer their time. You will hear more about this in the months to come we ask you to keep our theme in your mind and in your prayers. It would be wonderful to see the sanctuary full on a Sunday morning. God bless all.

She can walk enough to get back and forth to her bathroom, but that is about it. We hope to get her into her own walker and get some strength back in her legs. She experienced a good deal of swelling due to the IV they gave her while in the hospital. She is expected to be there 4-6 weeks. Redeemer will supply food on Sundays when Code Blue is called. Volunteers are needed to cook and deliver the hot meals to the designated church in Vineland. Code Blue feeds about 50 people and the meals are simple but wholesome. A Thrivent Action Team will help to supply the food. Donations of food are also appreciated. Code Blue will be in effect this year from November 1 to March 31. This ministry feeds and shelters the homeless on nights when the weather becomes life threatening. Vineland, Millville and Bridgeton churches all participate in this compassionate ministry. Please contact Dale Nichols (call or text) or Matt Helland to volunteer to work on this project. All help is greatly appreciated. May God Bless all who work and support this compassionate ministry. + Redeemer would like to say thank you for generous donation that helped repair a few potholes. + Redeemer would also like to say thank you for the new front and back doormats at the Manor House. A Huge Thank You to all who donated items for the Cusco, Peru Project. What a wonderful outpouring of love and caring as we celebrate our 500 th Anniversary! We will be shipping four boxes of school supplies and multiple boxes of blankets, jackets, gloves, hats and other clothing to the children living in the orphanages. Your generosity is appreciated by me and I am sure by the children who live in the mountains of Peru. I would also like to thank Thrivent and our own Thrivent Community Team for their support of this Action Team Project. Arlene Cherwien, Project Coordinator
