Please pray for healing of her body and that she cooperates with healthcare providers and family helping her. Emma Davis asks for prayer for Richard Brook as he is dealing with failing health. Sean & Elva George continue to ask for prayers for the Louisiana flood survivors and for the Standing Rock water protectors for strength, courage, perseverance, peace, serenity, confidence. Susan, Wayne, Ryan, Michael, and Bethany Hensley ask for prayer for Erin Hensley who is going through a difficult time. Jasmine Fuller requests prayer for herself for perseverance as she battles the effects of a bad car accident and the complications of CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) while trying to stay at the top of my class in grad school. Jasmine also expresses her gratitude as this church been a wonderful part of her life at a stressful juncture. Cheryl McCaw offers praises for the children of CUMC for their spirit, their innocence, and their growing as young Christians. May we all learn from them as we see the light of Christ. Beverly Crowell asks for prayer for herself and daughter Cary, for safe flights and vacation time. Jim & Mary Keirsey request prayer for their son-in-law, Alex, for positive/approval at immigration hearing to stay in this country. 3 CALENDAR DETAILS MISSIONS Food for the Hungry in October The Chandler Christian Community Center has been feeding hungry Chandler residents for 50 years with the help of community partners like Chandler United Methodist Church. Every Fall and Spring, our church supports CCCC with our brown bag food drive. In October, the Missions Team will hand out brown paper bags, asking you to fill them with nonperishable food and return them to church in preparation for Thanksgiving. Please watch your bulletin next week for a complete list of needed items. Last year, our donations helped CCCC s Food Bank distribute 16,961 food boxes, feeding more than 12,000 people. September Mission This week, we continue to support East Valley Military Support Group by collecting items the organization can ship to troops stationed overseas. If you were unable to bring your items to church in September, you can still bring them in October. We will make sure East Valley Military Support receives your items. Needed items include: Sanitary and comfort items such as chapstick, sun block, cotton swabs, toilet paper, comfort powder, i.e.: Gold Bond, shampoo (big bottles are ok) Books and magazines Writing materials such as paper, pens, envelopes, small diaries or notebooks Entertainment items such as Frisbees, playing cards, CDs and DVDs Food items such as microwave popcorn, Ramen noodles, plastic jars of peanut butter, crackers YOUTH CALLING ALL DADS... Who is ready for Dad & Me Camp? It's an opportunity to Make Great Memories Mingus Mountain United Methodist Camp will host their 8th annual Dad & Me Camp, October 21-23, The camp will be filled with all kinds of fun activities for boys and girls, ages 4-18, to share with their dads.
