4 ADVENT BIBLE STUDY United Methodist Women Bible Study will meet on Wednesday, December 14 at 5:30 PM. (This is a change from the 4th Wednesday to the 5th Wednesday due to the Thanksgiving Holiday.) We will begin a new study for Advent, While We Wait: Living the Questions of Advent, by Mary Lou Redding. Books are available in the Chandler UMC Office for $7 each. Are you new to Chandler UMC or would like to make some new connections? Adult and Family Ministries invite you to join in the fellowship and fun at the This study offers new ways to connect the usual story with our own questions of faith and approaches an all-too familiar narrative from perspectives often missed. Hear the questions by biblical figures such as Tamar, Ruth, Mary, Zechariah, Elizabeth, and the Magi, who are often mentioned in passing in the original story of Advent and how their questions echo sentiments with contemporary Christians. For more information, please contact Gwen Rusk at gwenkcr@q.com. All Church Christmas Party Hosted by Adult & Family Committee Saturday, Dec. 17 5:30-8:00pm At the church this year!! This year s Christmas Party has changed location and now includes elementary aged children!!! At 5:30, we will all eat together. Beverages and tableware will be provided. When it is time for the gift exchanges, the children will go into a classroom for activities and their gift exchange. An adult and a few of our youth will be with them. Every family is asked to bring a dish to share. Each adult is asked to bring a White Elephant gift for the gift exchange. Each child is asked to bring an ornament for their gift exchange. Be sure to sign up at the KIOSK or Nancy French at nancy_french1@yahoo.com, to make your reservations. Methodist Women s Fellowship extends a humble, hearty and sincere thank you to all who made the Christmas Tea such a lovely day to praise God and enjoy fellowship! Sylvia Redfield painted beautiful watercolors for the programs, a team ordered, picked up and plated food. Sara MacFadden and Hannah Boese shared musical talent, 15 ladies set pretty tables, and everyone joined in the donation of money and clothing for the Clothes Cabin. Behind the service of all the MWF women, were an amazing group of men! The men delivered outdoor cookers, boiled water, set-up & tore down tables, and cheerfully waited tables for 128 ladies. The men enjoyed a bar-b-que lunch prepared by Michele Brinkert as a thank you for their dedication to bringing the event to life. Tip the waiter raised over $2200 that will fund work boots for men in Chandler through the Clothes Cabin, and the CUMC Mission committee s Military efforts. Blessings to all who helped make the day special for our members and our guests. NOW AVAILABLE in the Gift Shop: 2017 God s Creation Calendars Get yours today for only $6.25 before they are gone. Proceeds of sales of items from the Gift Shop support our Missions work throughout the year.
