4 Baptism of the Lord 4 The JARROW CLUB will meet in the Parish Hall on MONDAY, JANUARY 14TH at 10 AM. All members of the parish who are 50 years of age or older are welcome to come and join us for fun, food and fellowship. We meet the 2nd Monday of the Month, January to May. June we go to a restaurant we choose for a luncheon. We do not meet in July or August. We start back up in September and then in December have a catered Christmas Luncheon. DUES ARE $10.00 for the year. Come meet your fellow seniors and maybe have some fun. Hostesses for January are Pat Klein and Linda Brown. JULIE MARGARET, daughter of Matthew Dewey Stewart and Jessica Haley Barranco RECEIVED THE SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM on Sunday, December 23rd celebrated by Rev. Monsignor William J. Skoneki. Godparents are Elizabeth and Clint Whitaker. Requirements for Baptism 1. Parents must be married in the Catholic Church. 2. If a couple is civilly married or unmarried, they must make an appointment to meet with the Pastor before they can have their children baptized. 3. Children age 6 and under will receive the sacrament of Baptism. From 7 and above, they will receive all three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation). 4. Parents must bring a copy of their marriage certificate from the Church where they were married. 5. Godparents must be practicing Catholics. You may have a proxy for a godparent/s who may be unable to come. 6. To have your child baptized, contact Andrea at to schedule a Baptism Preparation Class. 7. Join us for prayer, song and remembrance, of 18 unnamed babies who died as a result of abortion and found near a Montgomery Mall dumpster. Through the efforts of local clergy and members of the Alabama Citizens for Life, the babies were recovered and buried at Greenwood Cemetery. This memorial service celebrates the sanctity of all life - the born, the unborn, the aged and the handicapped. The service also marks the 46th Anniversary of Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion and claimed the lives of millions of innocent unborn children. PLEASE MAKE PLANS TO ATTEND! The 25th Anniversary of the Montgomery Area Adoration Chapel will be celebrated with a Mass & Benediction at Our Lady Queen of Mercy Catholic Church on Sunday, February 10, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. Celebrant & Homilist Archbishop Thomas J. Rodi Honor Guards from the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Peter Claver will be in attendance. A catered dinner will follow in the school gym.
