BEDE BOOK CLUB LED BY FATHER ALEX 6:30PM, THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2018 FAMILY LIFE CENTER I believe all of you are aware of my deep conviction that the Eucharist is Salvation for all. Unless we eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ, we do have Eternal Life. The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith. It behooves us to ever deepen our knowledge and understanding of the origins of Jesus doctrine. Therefore, I am offering a book club opportunity for the parish on a book I believe will enrich and enhance our understanding of the Holy Eucharist and Jesus doctrine. The book is available in the gift shop or through Amazon or other reputable book dealers. We will meet on Thursday evenings roughly every other week. THE BOOK IS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE GIFT SHOP. Requirements for Baptism 1. Parents must be married in the Catholic Church. 2. If a couple is civilly married or unmarried, they must make an appointment to meet with the Pastor before they can have their children baptized. 3. Children age 6 and under will receive the sacrament of Baptism. From 7 and above, they will receive all three sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Communion, and Confirmation). 4. Parents must bring a copy of their marriage certificate from the Church where they were married. 5. Godparents must be practicing Catholics. You may have a proxy for a godparent/s who may be unable to come. 6. To have your child baptized, contact Andrea at to schedule a Baptism Preparation Class. 7. Baptism in English is every 3rd Sunday of each month after the 10am Mass. 6 23rd Sunday In Ordinary Time 6 C.A.P.P. RETRAINING Update before October 31st IT IS TIME ONCE AGAIN for all religious, employees and those volunteers who have substantial contact with children to complete their Children and Adolescents Protection Program (C.A.P.P.) retraining. This retraining is required of all personnel who have already completed their initial C.A.P.P. training and who continue to be active in the ministries of the Archdiocese of Mobile. Retraining can be completed online. Log on to The retraining articles will be found on the Office of Child Protection page. After reading the articles, take the quiz. You will receive immediate feedback as to whether or not you pass the quiz. The online database will be automatically updated with the new retraining expiration date. If you are new to the parish and would like to volunteer either at the parish or the school, you will need to take the initial training. It is offered the fourth Wednesday of most months which will be September 26, October 24, November 28 at the MCPS High School campus at 6:30pm. The JARROW CLUB will meet in the Parish Hall on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 at 10 AM. The meeting is open to ALL St. Bede parishioners 50 years and above to come join us to some food, fun and fellowship. This is our first meeting after the summer break and we will be discussing our plans for the rest of the year. Cub Scouting at St. Bede is gearing up for a fun year! Open to 1 st 5 th grade boys. It was then that I began to think more seriously about material possessions and death. Leaving the Church in your final will and testament is a Holy act. What greater testament could be made to the world, family and God than to say, I support my parish Church even in the end. Please consider leaving St. Bede the Venerable Catholic Church in your Final Will and Testament.
