2 A Message From Pastor Ben Over Easter we looked at how Jesus wasn t just a historical figure from around 2000 years ago, but he is with us in the HERE & NOW. This week we see how Jesus is present HERE & NOW in our trials, and while we are tested, He is with us, and using that trial, that trouble to build and refine us and our faith for our future eternity with Him. Just last week, seven days ago we had the opportunity to celebrate the risen Jesus Christ on Easter Sunday, and it is from here that Peter writes to us, with that memory for Him even fresher in his mind because he was able to witness Jesus in the flesh, and for Him it was a truly life-changing reality. When Jesus died on the cross on the original Good Friday, it would have been the end of Peter s hopes, and it would have made his denials of Jesus before the rooster crowed even more bitter. But Peter found out that Jesus did not stay dead. On that first Easter morning Peter learned from the women of the empty tomb and the message the angels had told them. He went running to the tomb and saw the evidence for himself. He left in wonder, but Jesus remembers Peter and appeared to him. And with this hope was reborn in Peter s heart with the sight of the living Lord. And now Peter is encouraging us to remember that living hope. 6 Prayer Corner Church Prayer Time A time of prayer is held at Bethany every Sunday at 8.30am. Any and all are welcome to join in with these prayer times. Prayer Points that Christ may always be present among his people for all pastors, that they may exercise the ministry of forgiveness with compassion for those in mental anguish and racked by doubt in themselves or in God for all Christians, who must give account of their faith for those who find no purpose in life for those are wounded in body or soul for those newly baptised or confirmed at Easter Care Slip & General Parish Prayer Requests Give thanks to him who saved us all.
