2 In the Hospital Pastor s Column (Hospital in NC) Jack Byrd (Obici) - Jack Hardt (friend of Anne Potter) (Henrico Doctors Hospital) Patricia Mansfield Wolford (sister-in-law of My Dear Friends, In 1898 British statesman Joseph Chamberlain wrote, I think that you will all agree that we are living in most interesting times. I never remember myself a time in which our history was so full, in which day by day brought us new objects of interest, and, let me say also, new objects for anxiety. Rev. Michael D. Halley Mr. Chamberlain may well have had our own days in mind when he wrote this! Interesting times, indeed. Grace Garner-Atkins) Fall Church Bazaar Saturday, November 5th 8:00am 2:00 pm Ongoing Prayer Townes Anders Parker... David Darden... Forrest & Mary Jane Cathey... Milton Liverman (friend of Jim Thorsen) As I write this note to you I am working on the sermon for this coming Sunday, which will explore the phrase in The Lord s Prayer, Thy will be done... As Christians, of course, this is our purpose on earth, to do the will of God. And in these most interesting times it is critical that we walk the path, think the thoughts, and do the deeds that are God s will for us. Some will surely say, But I don t know what God s will for me is. I think we all can relate to that at one time or another in our lives. And this is precisely where prayer comes in. It is through prayer, communion with God, renewing and strengthening our relationship with God, that we receive the direction (s) we need. So, in these most interesting times, take heart. God is in control and God wants to lavish his love and protection upon his children who seek his face. When you don t know what to do (we ve all been there, right??), then pray! God bless you all. The moment you walk in the door you will see, smell, and feel the comfortable and friendly atmosphere all but lost in the fast-paced world of today. Let the aroma of over eighty spices and seasonings, the old-fashioned candies and ingredients, and the courteous, helpful Cheese Shop staff take you back to a simpler era. For almost half a century, THE CHEESE SHOP has been a local family-owned Amish-style bulk foods store dedicated to bringing you the freshest, highest quality foods at reasonable prices. Our selection of deli meats and cheeses from Amish Country in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and more is available in bulk package, or blocked and sliced to your liking. Enjoy our selection of hundreds of shelled nuts, dried fruits, bargain spices, and other essential baking items. We offer peanut butter, apple butter, and a wide variety of preserves including no-sugar-added items. Our selection of over 100 cheeses and spices are priced at a fraction of those found in the grocery store you have to see it to believe it. Finally, stock up on our dozens of candies in either regular or no-sugar-added variety and on our array of snack mixes great for travel or your pantry. Our next stop will be the lovely nursery we discovered on our visit last year Milmont Garden Center and Greenhouses. Next, we will travel to Chiles Peach Orchard where we will enjoy picking or buying fresh mountain apples. There is an on-site country store and various other activities to enjoy during our visit. A Family Tradition For over one hundred years, the Chiles Family has been carefully tending its orchards. Beginning with a card table, cigar box, and roadside stand, the first generation of the Chiles Family sold the fruit of their labors to neighbors and folks passing through. Since that time, the orchards have grown to become community favorites and destinations for visitors far and wide. Today, at one time or another, the third, fourth, and fifth generations of the Chiles Family can be found planting, pruning, picking, or otherwise providing fresh produce to Central Virginia and beyond. We will stop on our way home for dinner on your own and arrive back at Church by 8:00 PM. Price: $50.00, which includes transportation and breakfast. Shopping at the Orchard, Garden Center and The Cheese Shop are at your expense. We will take along coolers if you want to make perishable purchases. If you are interested in joining us for a beautiful day in the Mountains of Virginia, please sign up no later than October 16, 2016, along with your payment. There will be no refunds after this date due to engaging the motor coach. Any questions, call Evelyn,
