5 Matthew 6:5-14 New International Version (NIV) And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. What A Friend We Have In Jesus In everything present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 What a friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry Everything to God in prayer! O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear, All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer! Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; Can we find a friend so faithful Who will all our sorrows share? Jesus knows our every weakness; Are we weak and heavy laden, Cumbered with a load of care? Precious Savior, still our Refuge; Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? In His arms He'll take and shield thee; Thou wilt find a solace there.
