One service for all - children, adults, teens, parade goers, jazz music lovers, visitors & members alike, King cake connoisseurs, krewe members and Mardi Gras aficionados! All are welcome! Stay for lunch after the service! Rayne 20/30 will sell hot dog lunches to raise money for the Crescent City Cafe expansion. Hot dog meals will be $8 including all the fixins, chips, and dessert. Support a great cause by buying a lunch & bringing a friend! Come enjoy the hottest local musicians and spirits, plus a wine pull and silent auction to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Luke s House Clinic. With your support, Luke's House Clinic provides 100% free medical care, eye exams, and glasses to the medically underserved and uninsured in our city. March 23rd, 7-10 pm, at the Howlin' Wolf Prime Timers Luncheon Wednesday, January 31 At Noon in the Fellowship Hall Guest speaker is Chris Granger, Times-Picayune Photographer. RSVP $6 Members $7 Guests $1 goes to Luke s House Wrist bands will be needed to enter the building or circle drive while enjoying the parades after worship. Please purchase ($5 each for anyone age 5 and over) wrist bands for each person and plan to stay with your guests. Make plans to attend on Sunday, February 18, 6 pm Hosted by the UMM Romantic 7-Course Gourmet Dinner featuring foods from Spain Lively Spanish music Childcare provided Proceeds go to Crescent City Café & NOLA Wesley Tickets are $25 and will be for sale on February 4 & 11 after services. Deadline for ticket purchases: Wednesday, February 14. Sorry, no walk-ins or tickets sold on the day of the event.
3 Opportunities for Service The Rayne Food Pantry is BARE!!! The items needed are: canned meat (tuna fish, chicken, Vienna Sausages), canned vegetables, soup (not condensed), chili, stew, and single canned meals (Ravioli, Spaghettios, Beefaroni, etc.). Most of our neighbors seeking food do not have a way to prepare it. When possible, it is better to purchase cans with easy open tabs, pouches, cartons or bottles. Mardi Gras 2018 Parking, Circle Drive and Building passes are still available. Volunteer to work at the potties or bring a meal to feed volunteers youthdirector@raynenola.org Always Needed at the Donation Station Hotel-sized amenities: soap, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, toothpaste, toothbrushes, as well as razors, reading glasses, and bandaids. Crescent City Café This young adult ministry, compelled by the love of Christ, serves a gourmet breakfast restaurant-style with dignity and grace to those in need twice monthly. The next café will be Saturday, February 17, 8 am, in the Fellowship Hall. To donate or volunteer, go to Comfort Food The Salt Team will prepare a meal in the kitchen after worship on Sunday, February 25, to be served on Tuesday, February 27, at The Open Table. To join the Salt, Pepper, Spice, or Tabasco Team, susie.vanderkuy@raynenola.org The Open Table Servers are welcome at the Open Table! If you would like to serve Comfort Food, join us at 2700 Louisiana Avenue on Tuesday, February 27, at 3 pm. The Intercessory Prayer Group This group meets each Tuesday at 1 pm in the Associate Pastor s office to pray for the concerns of our community of believers. All are welcome to join in prayer! 4 Opportunities for Spiritual Growth BIBLE, BREAKFAST, BEATITUDES Saturday, February 24 at 9 am Rayne's Epiphany House Meet with the community of Rayne men for fellowship and food as we study Jesus' teaching in Matthew 5. All men are welcome! Young Adult Bible Study Mondays from 6:30-8 pm Youth Room #219 Study: Pope Francis and Liberation Theology In this study you will learn how to read and experience God's word with a critical study of Luke through the lens of liberation theology, which emphasizes how Christ came to liberate the oppressed. We ll be learning about the history of the movement that started in Latin America, different methods used to interpret scriptural texts, The Pope, and our call to care for the earth and those who are affected by social, economic, and environmental injustices. Adrienne Ingram and Kelly Chervin are leading this study. Mardi Gras Parade Watch Party Saturday, February 3 Catch the afternoon parades beginning at 12 pm with the Krewes of Pontchartrain, Choctaw, and Freret. Meet us in the neutral ground at the corner of Amelia and St. Charles. Rayne 20/30 will provide fried chicken. Bring a camping chair and a snack to share. Bathrooms will be available See you on the route! Hot Dogs for a Cause on Jazz Sunday Volunteer with us to cook and sell hot dog lunches to raise money for the Crescent City Cafe expansion. Volunteer with YLC Recycles February 3 & 11 YLC Recycles will be debuting a new pilot program this year in partnership with the Arc of Greater New Orleans where we will be collecting plastic bottles and cups, aluminum cans and Mardi Gras beads to recycle. The YLC and Arc need 100 volunteers for each parade to be successful. Water, snacks, and clean restroom facilities will be provided. Please sign-up for one or more shifts. Pastor and Author Rick Bezet shares how to speak the truth in love by spending time with Jesus, the one who did it best.
