Those Nuts! Are Coming Back! As many of you may know, members of Rayne, Alberta and Melody Pate, and their family, were seriously affected by the disastrous flooding in the Baton Rouge area. John and Mandy Vance-Bukaty, also members of Rayne, have taken it upon themselves to raise funds to help reopen the Pate Family business, Those Nuts!, as soon as possible. Together with social media, they have launched a short series of live feeds documenting the rebuilding of their small business. We are calling upon the Rayne Community to follow them on Facebook and Instagram, and help support, Those Nuts! To place an order for these outstandingly delicious roasted pecans, go to gracielouisenutt.com Facebook/GracieLouiseNutt Instagram/GracieLouiseNutt Donation Station Canned goods with pop-tops are especially needed for those with no cooking options. On Any Given Friday Each Friday, volunteers gather to assemble the cookie trays for Sunday morning, replenish the children s activity bags, and prepare the sanctuary for worship. Extra hands on any given Friday would be a boost! If you can help, stop by on any Friday at 9:30 am. Crescent City Café This young adult ministry, compelled by the love of Christ, serves a gourmet breakfast restaurant-style with dignity and grace to those in need twice monthly. The next café will be Saturday, October 1, 8 am in the Fellowship Hall. To donate or volunteer, go to Comfort Food On Sunday, October 23, the Salt Cook Team will be preparing a meal to be served on Tuesday, October 25, at The Open Table. RECP Taking Applications On Any Given Friday There are openings in the Rayne Early Childhood Program for 2-year olds. 5 and Annual Chili Cook-Off! Sunday, October 9 Noon, Fellowship Hall Come Casual to Church! Enjoy the Chili and Hot Dog Bar $8 adults/$5 kids With Beverage and Dessert. Children May Wear Costumes and Enjoy Two Outdoor Bounce Houses. To Enter the Chili Cook-Off: Call Deadline for entering is Wednesday, October 5. Give your recipe a name. Bring 8-12 hot servings in a large pot by 11 am on October 9 to the church kitchen. The first 8 entries will be judged. Additional chili entries will help feed the multitudes. Entries will be judged on criteria including aroma, color, taste, spiciness, and consistency. And the Chili Judge? Amanda Price!
