3 June 17 th, 2018 From the Desk of the Pastor 4 th Sunday after Pentecost Glory to Jesus Christ! Dear Friends in Christ, Just got back from a family vacation in North Carolina. I am not able to write my usual letter here but I wish to encourage all of you to pray by name for three very special people in the life of our parish: Dylan, Brad and Ava Dunlap. They are the youngest members of the Dunlap family which joined our parish earlier this year. All three are being baptized into the Church at the 11am Divine Liturgy this Sunday. Make a point of congratulating them and welcoming them with true Holy Trinity panache! In Christ, Jason, priest and sinner Gospel for the Sunday: Matthew 8:5-13 Revised Standard Version (RSV) Jesus Heals a Centurion s Servant 5 As he entered Caper na-um, a centurion came forward to him, beseeching him 6 and saying, Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, in terrible distress. 7 And he said to him, I will come and heal him. 8 But the centurion answered him, Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to one, Go, and he goes, and to another, Come, and he comes, and to my slave, Do this, and he does it. 10 When Jesus heard him, he marveled, and said to those who followed him, Truly, I say to you, not even [a] in Israel have I found such faith. 11 I tell you, many will come from east and west and sit at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven, 12 while the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. 13 And to the centurion Jesus said, Go; be it done for you as you have believed. And the servant was healed at that very moment.

4 New Things at Holy Trinity Make a point of CONGRATULATING three new members of our parish: Dylan, Brad and Ava Dunlap who will be baptized into the Church at the 11am Divine Liturgy this Sunday. Congratulations Dunlap Family this your home! St. Josaphat Society is offering scholarship to the graduating students. If you are interested, please or call the rectory to obtain application form. Deadline is July 14. June 24 th we will hold a special collection for building maintenance. Each family is asked to be generous. What is generous? Well, give in the measure you wish God to bless you! Events at Holy Trinity For the Parish Festival we are asking for auction items, monetary donations or gift cards. If you happen to have a gift card you will never use, please donate it to the festival. All donations will be listed in the bulletin. Please submit your donation by July 31, Please call Mary Sembrat at or Mary Ann Davis at with any questions. Consider also asking your employer to sponsor our festival. July 21 will be a parish movie night in the church hall and blessing of the kitchen plaque. Come on out! Details to follow! Events in Our Ukrainian Community The Ukrainian Technological Society (UTS) online scholarship application for fall of 2018 scholarships, is now accessible. Current high school seniors or college students, log into then select scholarship application, and then follow the directions. Applications must be made online or postmarked, by July 5. The Ukrainian Technological Society is now accepting nominations for our 2018 Ukrainian of the Year. The qualifying factors are: professional accomplishments, humanitarian efforts, and contributions to Ukrainian arts and culture. Your nominee s accomplishments could be within the local, national, OR international realm. Your candidate must commit to attending our Ukrainian of the Year dinner dance on November 3rd, if chosen.
