INFANT BAPTISM Parents requesting baptism for their children under 7 years old must attend a mandatory preparation class offered every other month. Please call the Parish Office in advance for scheduling or other information. Infant baptisms are the last Sunday of each month. MARRIAGES/MARRIAGE PREPARATION Couples seeking the sacrament of marriage must be registered parishioners who are actively participating in the life of St. George Roman Catholic Parish. Notification of intent to marry must be provided six months in advance. For more information on the marriage preparation process, please call the Parish Office. Call Grace at ext: 101 GOD HAS A DIFFERENT PLAN We begin the season of Advent with a heartfelt call for our own repentance. We remember God s faithful love for us, and call upon God to help us to turn back. For behold, you are angry, and we are sinful (Isaiah 64:4). In the first reading and in the psalm, we recall God s promises and lament our unfaithfulness and our guilt. We call upon God s might and power in order to save us. With Isaiah, we ask God to rend the heavens and come down, / with the mountains quaking before you (Isaiah 63:19). Yes, God is faithful to us, because we are the work of God s hands. God is the potter, we are the clay. And yet, our concept of how God will come to save us is rooted in our own expectations of a warrior God who crushes mountains and thunders into our lives with great noise and glory. The people of the Diocese of Tucson and St. George s welcome Bishop Weisenburger and join him in prayer with all the faithful as they work together united in faith, hope, and charity. There is a write up on our bulletin board if you would like to know more about the new bishop. SAINT GEORGE QUILTERS The Saint George Quilting Group meets Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. in the social hall. The quilts we make are distributed to those in need throughout the community. You do not need to be a quilter to join us. Donations of fabric, batting and other sewing notions are always welcome. Any questions: Contact: Mary Irwin ROSARY FOR THE UNBORN Join others in praying the Rosary for the Unborn every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. starting on December 7 in the Adoration Chapel. The Adoration Chapel is located across from the parish office and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. If the office is closed, the chapel will also be closed. St. George Giving Tree Our Giving Tree program helps families in our community who have financial difficulties providing a Christmas gift for their children. There are tags with specific requests and a variety of gift card tags for those hard to buy for teenagers. We invite you to take a tag from the tree. Please return all gifts with tag attached NO LATER THAN Friday, December 15, Please do not wrap the gifts. Gift. Thank you for your continued support.
