4 HOLY TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH April 8, 2018 With Joyful Gratitude It is with joyful gratitude that together we thank the Risen and Merciful Lord for blessing our parish with His choicest graces during this Easter Season. Thanks to everyone who helped make both Holy Week and Easter so special this year. Special thanks to Phil and Connie Pratt for their tireless efforts guiding our Catechumens and Candidates to the sacraments of the Catholic Church, to those who kept company with Jesus on Holy Thursday night, to the Choi family for their efforts preparing the church for Easter and for our Easter Egg Hunt, to Joan Kilman for her ongoing work with Religious Education and for preparing the retreats and receptions, to Laura McCasland for her work as a sacristan, to all of our sacristans, lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and ushers, to Jayson Elliot and our Sacred Music Choir, to the Ad Hoc Schola, to Mike Bartusek for preparing the Easter Fire, to our bulletin designers and folders, to all who donated toward the Easter flowers, to our Facilities Director, John Darnielle for always being there keeping our buildings and grounds in wonderful shape, and to all who have helped or assisted in any way - thank you and may we all as a parish family continue enjoying the graces of our loving God. Students will have information about the Gala if you would like to join us for an evening of Hollywood fun at our Live and Silent Auction! Special guest appearance by Karolyn Grimes (Zuzu from It s a Wonderful Life). For more information or to purchase Gala/additional raffle tickets, please call St. Mary's at or visit Adult Faith Formation The moral relativism of today is not new. It can be traced back to the Garden of Eden, when Satan persuaded Adam and Eve that their truth was more important than THE truth. Starting today, we will explore what Pope Benedict called the dictatorship of relativism, the widespread notion that there is no absolute truth and, therefore, no right or wrong. We will also help you learn how to effectively respond to family and friends who hold to this mistaken and harmful idea. Drawing from Dr. Edward Sri s excellent 8-week DVD study, we will learn about the classical morality adopted by great (pagan) thinkers like Plato and Aristotle and then see how that contrasts with the modern approach. We will discover that simple logic and three-step proofs won t persuade relativist family and friends since they hold an entirely different worldview and speak a different language. Most important, we will develop clarity and confidence about moral truth and how to effectively share it with others. As with all our Adult Faith Formation classes, there is no charge and no required text. If you would like to go deeper, we suggest Dr. Sri s Who Am I To Judge?: Responding to Relativism with Logic and Love and the materials on the Formed.org website. Join us Sundays from 9:15 to 10:30 AM in the Hope House. Apr 8 Apr 15 Apr 22 Apr 29 May 6 May 13 May 20 May 27 Adult Faith Formation Calendar Don t Impose Your Morality on Me!
