In the Gospel reading Jesus says, A prophet is not without honor except in his native place and among his own kin and in his own house. So he was not able to perform any mighty deed there, apart from curing a few sick people by laying his hands on them. He was amazed at their lack of faith. This provides a wonderful opportunity to contemplate our own relationships within our family and community. There are times when we forget the kindness and generosity of our parents, siblings, children or friends because we are holding onto the past and unable to accept them for who they are. Jesus reminds us to keep the faith in all persons and not to lose sight of those who are closest to us. Let go of any pride you might carry, ask our Lord for his mercy and go to the sacrament of reconciliation to unburdon your sins. Our Lord is waiting for you with loving and open arms.
