Thanks, first of all, to those who have attended the "Mass on the Grass" on Saturdays in June. It has been a very enjoyable and meaningful experience as we worship at the Cross in the midst of the busyness of our lives. I believe it touches the lives of those who drive by, look up, and see meaningful worship happening "in the neighborhood." In July there will not be a 9:00 am service, so please bring your family to the 11:00 am service. The Rev. Quinn Parman, our new Rector, will have his first service on July 16, so come and welcome Quinn, Rachelle, Fritz, and Mary Karis. There will be a light reception following the service. I cannot believe it has been one year since we began our ministry with you. Such a pleasure it has been. We will come to service on occasion just to say hello

and make sure you are encouraging your new priest. You are special people in a special place! Faithfully, John B. PARISH NEWS Our New Rector We welcome the Rev. Quinn Parman, who will begin his work at St. Peter s Church on July 10. His first Sunday will be July 16. Please make him welcome! St. Peter s Day Celebration This Sunday, June 25, there will be a 10:00 am combined service only, followed by a picnic lunch, including an inflatable waterslide (Parents, please bring swimwear and a change of clothes for the kids) and a petting zoo! Bring your camp chair and a side dish or dessert to share. St. Peter s will provide hot dogs, drinks, and family fun! On this day, we will also wish a fond farewell to our Associate Rector, the Rev. Valerie Carnes. For questions or volunteer opportunities, please contact Linda Cooper or Chassie Long. Sign-up sheets for volunteers and food are located outside the Bracewell Room. Please come and join in the celebration! St. Peter s Day ROTA If your name appears in the ROTA on June 25 for the 7:30 am or 9:00 am services, please disregard. If it appears under the 11:00 am service, please plan to serve instead at the 10:00 am service. If you need to arrange a substitute, please

contact the church office. Remember, there is only one service on June 25 and it begins at 10:00 am. Bid Adieu at Bonner-Roo on July 2 On Sunday, July 2, Fr. Bonner will celebrate the Holy Eucharist for the last time with us at 7:30 am and 11:00 am Plans are underway for a festive celebration of the ministries of John and his wife, Debbie, as their time with us comes to a close. Follow your nose to a Waffle Bar in the Bracewell Room between the two services (8:30 until 10:45 am), where delicious hot waffles, sausage, bacon, and all sorts of ingredients to top off your waffle will be available. (This gathering will take the place of Fellowship after the 11:00 am service.) Bonnaroo-like music will be playing but not too loud! Casual dress is encouraged, including very colorful socks, saddle oxfords or Bucks, and any UTC (Go Mocs!) or golf apparel. Donations needed: Chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, chopped almonds, pecan chips, shredded coconut, bananas, blueberries, raspberries, sprinkles, whipped topping. Call or the church office ( or parishadmin@stpeters.org) if you can donate or help set up or clean up. No 9:00 am Service in July Mark your calendars! Just as in 2016, the 9:00 am Family Service will not be held during the month of July. The dates are July 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30. The 7:30 am and 11:00 am services will be held as usual. The 9:00 am service will resume August 6. Father Band Aid Returns On Sunday, July 9, we are delighted to welcome the Reverend Hunter Huckabay

back to St. Peter s. When we found ourselves without a rector at the end of 2013, Father Huckabay served as our supply clergy each Sunday for months. He and his wife, Prestine, have been longtime friends of our parish and we are pleased that he can supply for us on the Sunday before we welcome our new rector to St. Peter s Church. If you would like to find out why he has the nickname Father Band Aid, be sure and come to the 7:30 am or the 11:00 am service on Sunday, July 9. Many Thanks! For at least 10 years and maybe more, Myron Rogers has made the Monday morning bank deposit of the monies collected and counted each Sunday. Myron has served the church in a variety of ways over the years as a member of the Vestry several times and Senior Warden a few times, too. While he prefers to do these sorts of tasks without any fanfare and quietly go about his way as if it s nothing, we wanted to give Myron Rogers a big St. Peter s Thank You for performing this important task for us. He is training our Parish Administrator to follow in his capable (but weary) footsteps. We are indeed blessed to have many parishioners like Myron working behind the scenes to keep things in order. Our sincere gratitude to you! Congratulations! St. Peter s congratulates parishioners John & Connie Trieber, who recently graduated from the Education for Ministry (EfM) program at Grace Church. For more information on EfM, contact Gaines Campbell, Chattanooga EfM Coordinator at gcampbell@videousa.com or , or go to

after the 11:00 am service. A Message from the Flower Guild Just a reminder that many Sundays are still available this year if you would like to dedicate flowers for the altar in memory of a deceased loved one, in celebration of a special event, or in thanksgiving for a friend or family member.
