The only reason God can ask this of us is because he loved us first with all of his heart, mind, strength and soul. If you don t believe this, just look at a crucifix. The Peace and Justice Committee is asking parishioners of St. Michael and Blessed Sacrament parishes for donations. Boxes for the drive will be located at church entrances. Cash donations will also be accepted to buy paperback Catholic Bibles for use in the jail. Michael Gadache Ahmadu and Minna Diocese Last week I was in your parish and preached at all the Masses and asked for a gift for the Diocese of Minna in Nigeria. I am grateful to Fr. Hemann and to all of you the parishioners for your warmth and hospitality. I remain grateful for the opportunity to be in your parish and to share with you the love of the Trinity. A Big THANK YOU to all who donated or prayed for the Diocese of Minna. May the Lord reward your generosity and provide all your needs according to His plan and riches. 9 PREP Registration is underway for next year s PREP classes. If you have children who will be in Grades 1-10 in a public school system, we welcome you to our Parish Religious Education Program (PREP). Classes meet from 7:00 to 8:00 on Wednesday nights during the school year. Registration forms for the school year can be downloaded from the parish website, or you can pick up hard copies from the back of church (next to the statue of Mary) or from the parish office. Please get your children registered for next year so we can order enough books for everybody! Area Programs & Opportunities In Sioux City Iowa abortions are scheduled for the following days: Friday July 15th and Friday July 22nd. Please note that this schedule is somewhat off from the every other week that we have become accustomed to. Won't you please join us in prayer. Your presence may just be that hope a desperate mother may be looking for upon her arrival. Please join us at Mass in the chapel at Mary's Choice beginning at 8:15am on the abortion day. We ask for prayer warriors to try and come at any time during the hours of 8 am and 11:30 am. Sometimes we are not asked what can we do but rather what did we not do. May the Love of Christ encourage your prayerful support for those in such desperate situations that they come to believe they have no choice but to abort. SAVE The Date: Saturday July 30th, 2016 Dr. Steve Pallone will present: "NFP - Better Answers, Better Healing...A Growing Movement in Women's Health Care".
