It only takes about an hour & a half on Saturday mornings. St. Margaret Mary s Circle is in charge of cleaning the church for the month of December. If you have not been contacted, please call Pam Mears at Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest Once again the Knights of Columbus Council of St Michael s Parish is having their annual Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. Each student who submits a poster will receive a small gift. There will also be prizes for the winners of each grade level, Kindergarten through 5 th grade. The posters will be judged first of all on how they convey the true meaning of Christmas. The quality of art work will be a secondary consideration. Posters may be submitted on any size paper up to 12 x 18 that the student wishes to use. All posters must be submitted by Wednesday, December 12th, Winning posters will be displayed at the main entrance t o S t M i c h a e l s c h u r c h. The following information must be placed on the back of each poster: Child s full name, grade level, and the name of their school (St. Michaels, Blessed Sacrament, or PREP) and posters then given to their Teacher or turned into the Parish Office. Any questions please contact Kevin Kirwan We would appreciate some assistance after the 11:00 Mass on Dec. 23rd with Christmas Church decorating. Most of all we need some men who could set up the trees and bring out the statues. This is a wonderful way to bring Christmas joy to our parishioners. Walk With Me, Jesus, A Widow s Journey, by Rhonda Chervin, PhD, draws on the themes of The Stations of the Cross to join the sufferings of widowhood with the Passion of our Savior to promote healing that is beautiful and meaningful. At the end of each chapter there are questions and thoughts posed to facilitate discussion. We would hope to get started reading before the holidays. This is not a study supported by any particular parish; just an invitation from Beth to share a book, meet and discuss in a comfortable setting. If interested, please contact Beth at , and visit to purchase the book if interested or just to see what it s about. Blessed Sacrament monthly KC breakfast. It will be held on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 8 a.m. until noon. Free will offering. Also, please consider bringing nonperishable canned foods for area food pantries. A Gospel Mission Christmas, featuring the Siouxland Discovery Barbershop Chorus and Quartets. December 10 at 7pm at Peace Reformed Church. Free Will Offering. All Proceeds go to the Gospel Mission. Immaculate Conception Bake Sale and Breakfast. December 16th from 8-11:30am. Adults are $6 and children 4-10 are $4. During this Year of Faith, the Adult Faith Formation Team for St. Boniface and St. Joseph invites you to attend a 12-week video series of adult education classes focused on the Creed, one of four pillars outlined in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Dr. Sean Innerst will be the presenter. We will make use of the big screen TV in the parish hall at St. Joseph s (1112 8th Street). The classes will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. on Mondays beginning January 7, 2013 and ending, April 1, 2013 with no class held on Monday, February18, President s Day. The price for the workbook is $ Couples attending the class only need 1 workbook. Participants will also need a copy of the Catechism.
