1 393 Saints Peter & Paul UOC 8410 West 131st St. Palos Park, IL V. Rev. Vasyl Sendeha Rector Something to ponder upon Parish Council President John Beck Sisterhood of St. Anne Andrea Manson Church School Director Pat Wolsko Church Choir Director George Cepynsky Sr. UOL President Harry Oryhon Ways & Means Committee Rich Ganske Seraphim Group President Debbie Pierog 50/50 Club President Michael Gbur Here are a few reminders to help motivate you when you need it most 1. Pain is part of growing. Sometimes life closes doors because it s time to move forward. And that s a good thing because we often won t move unless circumstances force us to. Just because you re struggling doesn t mean you re failing. Every great success requires some type of worthy struggle to get there. Good things take time. Stay patient and stay positive. Everything is going to come together; maybe not immediately, but eventually. Remember that there are two kinds of pain: pain that hurts and pain that changes you. When you roll with life, instead of resisting it, both kinds help you grow. 2. Everything in life is temporary. Every time it rains, it stops raining. Every time you get hurt, you heal. After darkness there is always light you are reminded of this every morning, but still you often forget, and instead choose to believe that the night will last forever. It won t. So if things are good right now, enjoy it and
2 be thankful to God. If things are bad, don t worry because it won t last forever either. Just because life isn t easy at the moment, doesn t mean you can t laugh. Just because something is bothering you, doesn t mean you can t smile. Every moment gives you a new beginning and a new ending. You get a second chance, every second. You just have to take it and make the best of what you have got. 3. Worrying and complaining changes nothing. Those who complain the most, accomplish the least. It s always better to attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed. It s not over if you ve lost; it s over when you do nothing but complain about it. If you believe in something, keep trying. Don t let the shadows of the past darken the doorstep of your future. Spending today complaining about yesterday won t make tomorrow any brighter. Take action instead. Let what you ve learned improve how you live. Make a change and never look back. And regardless of what happens in the long run, remember that true happiness begins to arrive only when you stop complaining about your problems and you start being grateful for all that God has blessed you all this time. When reviewing all the picnic things, I noticed that I inadvertently deleted SWANEL'S (Ed and Lillianna Roviaro) from our business donation list that was posted. For years now, Ed and Lillianna have donated the cooler behind the bar, the soda and gas, extra ice, and this year a new ice machine, for our Festival. In addition they also repaired the soda gun that broke down during the picnic. I want to thank them and also sincerely apologize to them for my error. Festival Chairman, Rich Ganske 4

7 393 Church Temple Main Chandelier Over the past year, Our Church Temple has been beautified and remodeled. Many necessary updates have been done, thanks to the parishioners kindness and generosity. We are working on replacing Main Chandelier at the Church Temple. Current one is too small for our temple as well as in very poor condition. We have collected so far $ towards this project. We hope we would be able to raise enough funds to purchase a new one and install it in the near future. Every little bit helps. Thank you for your support. Church Humor WHILE renovating and expanding their facilities, a local church congregation worked feverishly to beat the three-month deadline they had set. The church secretary noted the steady progress in the Sunday bulletin, and the pastor praised the members of his flock. Applying a coat of finish to the new woodwork was his contribution to the project. A misprint in the bulletin provided the congregation with a good laugh: "Even our pastor has been pitching in to help. We thank him for vanishing all week so much more work could be accomplished!" 8
