A short class is held the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Rectory. Communal Baptisms are at 1pm the second Sunday of the month or any Sunday at the 11:30am Mass. ANOINTING OF THE SICK Please contact the Rectory when someone is about to undergo a serious surgery or has a great risk to health. MATRIMONY Marriage arrangements should begin a year before the proposed date of the wedding by making an appointment with the Pastor. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome adults considering membership in the Catholic Church and those desiring to complete their sacraments. RICA is for you. It is a process that entails weekly informal classes in the Rectory, call for information.

3 PARISH FINANCES Good news! Due to your sensitivity for your financial stability of our parish we have paid off all the outstanding, ordinary expenses of the parish. Congratulations to all of our concerned parishioners. Our next step is to start chipping away at an extraordinary loan that was taken out to place new roofing on the school. That loan principle is $275, Please know 177 parishioners are carrying the weight of the cost of services the Archdiocese provides throughout our 10 counties and over 300 parishes. So far we have contributed $34, toward our $85, goal. A big thank you to those who try to help out. ANNUAL MASS FOR THE MILITARY Holy Rosary Parish will honor our men and women past and present who have responded to the call of service for our Nation on Sunday, June 3rd, 9:30am. Refreshments will follow. The local Legion Posts and Scout Troops will also participate. Call the Rectory for more information. Cardinal s Appeal Update How are we doing? It seems many parishioners just don t realize how helpful the Offices of the Archdiocese are to us. This lack of knowledge reflects itself in the lack of support for the Cardinal s Appeal. Please consider taking an Appeal envelope and placing a helpful donation in it. The Archdiocesan Offices and Services do a great job in meeting various needs. GOLDEN WEDDING JUBILEE MASS Couples celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary during 2018 are invited to attend the Golden Wedding Jubilee Mass with Cardinal Dolan at St. Patrick s Cathedral on Sunday, June 3rd, at 2:15pm. Pre-registration is required. Please contact the Rectory to register. The closing date to register for the Mass is tomorrow, Monday, May 14, Couples who are unable to attend the Mass can request a certificate through their parish. On Saturday, May 5th, 51 second grade Religious Education students received the Holy Eucharist for the first time. May the Lord Jesus continue to always bless you and your families, and keep you in His love now and forever! First Communicants are invited to wear their Communion attire each week while attending Mass during the month of May. Our Religious Education Program for the school year came to a close on May 3rd. The program will resume in September. We have many dedicated and wonderful people to thank for making the program such a special ministry: Thank you to God, first and foremost, always. Thank you to Monsignor Barry, Fr. Peter, Fr. Collins and Deacon Richard for the Sunday Children's Masses, the Sacrament liturgies, and for their availability to our students. We are blessed and fortunate to have Msgr. Barry as our Pastor, and, are very grateful for his spiritual guidance and involvement in the Religious Education program. Thank you to our Catechists, Aides and Hall Monitors who share their faith with our children. It is because of their dedication and effort that we continue to have a successful Religious Education program. Thank you to Alexis Gray and our Choirs for enhancing our Children's/Family Masses as well as our Sacrament Masses. Thank you to our other Parish Ministries and Volunteers who have worked with us throughout the year in various program events and special activities. Our collaborative efforts produced positive, successful results, and we look forward to another great year. Thank you to our Altar Servers, Eucharistic Ministers, Ushers, Holy Name Society and all who are involved directly and indirectly with our program. FOR ALL MOTHERS - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! 4 Volunteer Catechists still needed for the Religious Education school year. We are seeking practicing Catholics who have received the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Communion and Confirmation) to volunteer to pass on their faith to our parish children. ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY June 10th First Sunday 9:30am Mass SAVE THE DATE: Tues, June 5th End of Year Dinner 6:30pm at Jean-Jacques, 468 Bedford Road, Pleasantville. $40.00 per person. New Men's socks and underwear (in package). If available, please put items in a used back pack and drop off on May 19/20th after Mass. The Midnight/Breakfast Run provides fellowship, food and clothing for the homeless in NYC. Holy Rosary coordinates six or more Runs each year and depends mainly on your generosity for supplies. We are currently looking especially for volunteers for a Home Team of volunteers: those that provide support for the people who go out on the Run. LAST Youth Group Meeting (until September) May 19th 6 to 8:30 pm in the cafeteria, we hope to see you there! Crayon Collection We will be collecting again this year for The Crayon Initiative. Please bring your broken and/ or unwanted crayons with you to Mass starting May 20th through June 24th. The Crayon Initiative melts them, makes them into new crayons and donates them to children s hospitals. Collection boxes will be in the back of the Church. Vacation Bible School August 6-10, 9 am-12 pm Holy Rosary is once again participating in Vacation Bible School with the Pleasantville Churches, Emanuel Lutheran Church will be hosting this year. Vacation Bible School is for children entering Kindergarten through 8th grade in September. It is a fun week of Bible stories, great music with Mr. Chris, crafts, games and time with friends from other Churches. Teens entering 9th through 12th grades and adult volunteers are needed. Teens can earn up to 20 service hours. Nursery and PreK available for children of volunteers. Registration forms will be in the back of the Church and on Holy Rosary s website.
