A short class is held the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Rectory. Communal Baptisms are at 1pm the second Sunday of the month, and every Sunday at 11:30am Mass. ANNOINTING OF THE SICK Please contact the Rectory when someone is about to undergo a serious surgery or has a great risk to health. MATRIMONY Marriage arrangements should begin a year before the proposed date of the wedding by making an appointment with the Pastor. RITE OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS We welcome adults considering membership in the Catholic Church and those desiring to complete their sacraments. RICA is for you. It is a process that entails weekly informal classes in the Rectory, beginning in the Fall.

3 QUEENSHIP OF MARY August 22nd Pope Pius XII decreed and instituted the Feast of the Queenship of Mary to be celebrated throughout the world every year. Mary is Queen of all since she brought forth a Son, Who at the very moment that He was conceived, was, by reason of the hypostatic union of the human nature with the Word, even as man, King and Lord of all things. The Blessed Virgin is our Lady and Queen because of the unique way in which she has cooperated toward our redemption by giving of her own substance. BOOK DRIVE The Westlake English Honor Society is conducting a book drive for the benefit of Hope's Door in Hawthorne and the Children's Home in Poughkeepsie. Boxes will be set up in the Church vestibule for the book donations through Friday, August 31st. Please donate any appropriate books to this worthy cause. THE NATIONAL BASILICA On Saturday, October 6, there will once again be an archdiocesan pilgrimage to Washington, DC, to visit the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception. If you have never been on a pilgrimage before, please consider joining us for a day of prayer, reflection, and trust in her care as we visit the basilica affectionately known as Mary s Shrine. Buses will depart from across the archdiocese and there will be time to tour the basilica, pray the rosary together, and celebrate Holy Mass before returning home. 4 ROSARY ALTAR SOCIETY The Rosary Altar Society would love to have new members join their society. Currently we have approximately 60 participating members in our organization. Our mission is Devotion to the Blessed Mother, some fund raising to help with the parish needs, and a monthly meeting which is centered around a social event. I promise you this is a great way to meet other Holy Rosary parishioners and have some fun. All ladies are welcome. Please contact Domenica Caruso at if interested in joining. FAMILY DAY MAKING EVERDAY SPECIAL... is the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse s initiative to promote simple, everyday things parents can do to build a strong, healthy relationship with their kids that prevents future drug use. Thank you from the Midnight/Breakfast Run!!! Thank you Holy Rosary Parishioners for your generous support of our homeless outreach! On July 28 th, Holy Rosary s Midnight Run team served over 80 homeless New Yorkers in Manhattan. In addition to your donations, we have two volunteer teams that support the Midnight Run: The Home Team and Runners. The Home team coordinates the pre Run preparations by sorting the clothes and getting everything ready to hand off to the Runners. Ten of our volunteers (Eight Grade to adults) left around 9pm after receiving a blessing from Fr. Alex and returned around 1AM. They made four stops and distributed hot food, coffee, lunch bags, hygiene kits, clothing and shoes. Most importantly they brought fellowship and love in their interactions. We expect to do at least six Runs each year. Our next Run in October will be a Breakfast Run, we will leave around 7am on a Sunday morning and return by the 11:30am Mass. If you would like to get involved, we are continuously looking for donations and volunteers to join our Home team and become Runners. October 20, 2018 Westchester County Center This fall, the Office of Youth Ministry is hosting New York Catholic Youth Day bringing over 1,500 high school students together for a day filled with music, speakers, service and fun. This year s theme, Be Bold, focuses on Pope Francis 2018 World Youth Day message from Luke 1:30, Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
