1 THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME NOVEMBER 18, 2018 Thanksgiving Day Mass will be at 8:00 am. The Parish Office will be closed Nov for the "And then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in the clouds' with great power and glory." (Mk 13:26) Thanksgiving Holiday "But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." None of us knows when the world will end. All we know is that it will end. All things do. Many people choose to live a somewhat carefree life by living as if life will never end. They go from one day to the next, never giving a thought to the fact that today may be their last. If you knew exactly when your life will end, what would you do differently? As Christians, we are called to be people of beginnings and endings. God is in all of life even when we think that life cannot get any worse than it is. Creating life out of death is what God does best. We are asked to live vigilantly, seeing God in all things and being ever prepared to meet him, whenever that time comes. --Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS

3 THIRTY-THIRD SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME NOVEMBER 18, 2018 This month our parish ministry, American Heritage Girls, will be participating in Box of Joy, a Christmas gift ministry organized by local Catholic schools, parishes and groups nationwide. By packing Boxes of Joy with toys and other gifts, our parishioners will bless children suffering from extreme poverty by sharing the joy of Christmas and planting seeds of hope through the Gospel. We encourage every parishioner to help us pack a Box of Joy! Deadline for dropping off your items is Friday, November 23, Please bring your items to Campbell Hall and drop in the Box of Joy box. Most needed items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, candy, socks, stuffed animals, pens, wash cloths, combs/ brushes, spoons, small toys (playing cards, bouncy balls, jump ropes, slinkies, travel games, wooden car, etc.). We also need cash donations to cover the shipping of the gifts overseas. If you can contribute in this way please make checks out to Cross Catholic Outreach. On Wednesday, November 21st there will be a rosary at 10 am followed by the funeral Mass at 10:30 am. The Altar & Rosary Society will host a reception with a light luncheon. All are welcome!

5 The Rites of Acceptance and Welcome Will be celebrated next Sunday, Nov 25, at the 10:30 am Mass. Please, come and welcome our Catechumens and Candidates! A reception with breakfast will follow in Campbell Hall. In these Rites: They need you! We receive our Inquirers into the Catechumenate, a period of learning and formation in The Word, Community, Liturgy and Mission. They declare their intention to continue their journey towards becoming Catholic. We are called to help them on their journey. Please pray for all involved in RCIA It takes dedicated Godparents and sponsors who are willing to share their faith with another so that each person called into our parish family may experience the peace and joy of being Catholic.
